[Fwd: Release Engineering Status Report]

encourage everyone to take a look at it at
http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/5-roadmap/index.html.
Among the highlights, KSE is progressing extremely well and is no longer
a major source of concern for 5-stable. Stability is also at a very
good level. However, while performance has improved in some areas, it
is not at the level that we want it to be. Since improving performance
will likely involve changing some API...

Mar 2003 - Sep 2003 FreeBSD Status Report
...The FreeBSD Bi-monthly status reports are back! In this edition, we
catch up on seven highly productive months and look forward to the end
of 2003.
As always, the FreeBSD development crew has been hard at work. Support
for the AMD64 platform quickly sprang up and is nearly complete. KSE
has improved greatly since the 5.1 release and will soon become the
default threading package in FreeBSD. Many other projects are in the
works to improve performance, enhance the user experience, and expand
FreeBSD into new areas. Take a look below at the impressive summary of
work!...

I am also having problems receiving my first fax. I get a 320byte file (for a
4 page fax). If I look a the tiff generated, is just has some few dots.
I am sending the fax from a notebook with Windows XP to an X100P and using
libtiff v3.5.7.
Has anyone successfully received faxes ?

Problems with one thread excessive CPU usage.
Good morning.
I'm having some problems with one thread of samba, taking excessive CPU
usage.
This is one single thread, that i can kill with 'kill -9 pid', and the
server will keep other connections.
This thread will severely slow down the server, and clients notify me
within minutes of this happening.
In essense the server becomes unuseable, because it's too slow.
This is
