An "any" host source/destination
Just out of curiosity, I''m running shorewall on a machine that has 4
nic''s and 4 different VPN tunneled subnets.
When I want to define a service that is available from any source to a
certain destination, instead of making a matrix of all the different
combinations possible, is there an easier way?
Something like,: ACCEPT any loc tcp ssh

Port forward and redirect
Hello,
I have a server to which is defined with static nat in Shorewall, and on
that server, I''m running a http on a non-standard port (lets say, port
1234). I would like to use on of my free IP addresses, and map port 80
on the public side to port 1234 on the private side (forget about
binding my services on a separate IP on the server, if it was feasible,
I would have done that).

apt.llvm.org has the wrong binaries/headers for llvm-toolchain-xenial-7
It appears that there was an out-of-band patch from Samuel Thibault:
https://salsa.debian.org/pkg-llvm-team/llvm-toolchain/blob/7/debian/patches/D54378-hurd-triple.diff
Although the patch was approved here https://reviews.llvm.org/D54378
Is this patch going to land in 7.0.1 or 8?

When adding a trend line to a scatterplot (e.g. abline (90,4,col="red"), I
believe the "90" is the intercept and "4" is the slope. How do I determine
the intercept and slope for the abline command?

Russian and French sounds
Hi,
Does anyone know who did the prompts for French and Russian for Asterisk? I
need some custom prompts.

Wine language problems
Dear Wine Team,
I believe that I got the correct e-mail adress, however, if I don't,
please redirect me. Anyway, I have a problem with wine that I'm
wondering if there is a fix to. everytime I try to run a program
under it, it comes up with a funny language, kind of like a Arabic
font. I'm not sure how to correct this. This happens even when I try
to open the control panel for

Release plans
Hi everyone.
So I'd like to start with an update saying that we've hit a pretty big
milestone in our 0.9.0 plans for world domination - that is that the
last plugin, DBus, has finally been ported and works. [1] The code is
currently undergoing review, and once some inconsistencies are fixed
up, it looks set for inclusion into master.
This means that along with this, a 2D GTK Window

Issues with CentOS in enterprise
Hello all.
Does anybody have experience with pushing CentOS in enterprise?
I have the following situation. I tried to promote CentOS to local bank. They have now a couple of Gentoo-based systems and I tried to explain them that CentOS is much better option for enterprises.
IT department is interested in stability of the system, so they are ready to give CentOS a try. But the problem came from

CentOS Enterprise IPA (Identity, Policy, and Audit) Server
I have just completed building the RPMS for the CentOS Enterprise IPA
(Identity, Policy, and Audit) Server.
This is based on the sources from the Red Hat Enterprise IPA server.
Documentation can be downloaded here:

The RPMS are located in the testing repository.

Centos & UPS
Hello,
I received for X-mas an APC UPS system form my computer. I'm looking for how
I can integrate it into the system so that the system will shut down either
after the UPS power is low enough or a timed event after the power is out
will automatically shutdown. Would also like it to be smart enough to stop
the shut down process if power is restored before the shutdown starts.

LVM, usb drives, Active Directory
I have a client with a handful of USB drives connected to a CentOS
box. I am charged with binding the USB drives together into a single
LVM for a cheap storage data pool (10 x 1 TB usb drives = 10 TB cheap
storage in a single mount point).
The next fun piece is how to incorporate that storage space into an
existing Active Directory structure to apply AD acls for limited
access.
I'd rather

IP accounting counters on iptables
I''ve been muddling around to find the "ideal" ip accounter, and I have
yet to find any that would use the existing chains (in this case,
defined by shorewall), and store data in an SQL database for infinite
data gathering.
So far, I think I found one that worked on that reads the output of

SIP registration issues - Ugly workaround
Hello everyone,
I'm currently attempting to get Asterisk properly registering through a NAT
proxy.
Here's the twist, the provider does not permit direct SIP messages to the
sip registry, instead they want registration to be done by their nat
traversal proxy, and when you send-out the registration messages to the nat
traversal, they must be sent as if they were originally sent directly to

winbindd PID name resolution mis-behaviour with Linux (openSuse 10.1)
Hi All,
I'm running Samba quite well on my OpenSuse 10.1 PPC using samba
3.0.22-13.27-1162-SUSE-CODE10 integrated with winbindd and idmap_rid
support to a Windows 2003 AD.
However, I've encountered two issues:
1. username resolution of PID UID's stay numeric, the operating system is
not resolving the UID of the process and leaving it numric.
2. in another deployment (with exact

mysql-ruby gem using significantly more memory that mysql.rb ?
I have found that, using the mysql-ruby gem leads to 40 MB more memory
consumption in my tests than plain mysql.rb.
Is anyone aware of this?
My test loads a nasty grid of values using many include statements
which result in about 5000 rows being returned (the actual number of
rows is much less but the joins increase the number).
When using ruby-mysql:
The memory usage jumps from ~75megs to
