Hi all, I use this command on my servers to test locally that Samba is alive and well: smbcontrol smbd ping However, it suddenly stop working on one of the several identical servers, and I cannot figure out why. ping command says "no replies received", while log.smbd says that it received a ping message, but cannot reply because permission is denied. Hi team, I use Samba 4.3.12 as a printserver with ~900 printers, and it takes about 20 seconds for rpcclient enumprinters command to finish. However, sometimes it gets stuck and returns WERR_SEM_TIMEOUT for no apparent reason, and this timeout always takes exactly 12 seconds. If a Windows 7 client tries to reach it using a short name \\prinserver , it can see the list of printers, but can't connect to any of them: "Windows couldn't connect to the printer" pop-up appears immediately. Hi All, I'm trying to make Windows 8 clients print to Samba 3.5 and CUPS 1.5.4. Thanks to the patch from Frank Lascheit ( https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2012-December/170322.html) it seems to work, except for one thing. By default, Windows 8 client emits CreatePrinterIC request, to which Samba replies with "Not Implemented" answer. Instead of ignoring it, Win8 client fails
