Samba 2.2.4 SWAT Says Broken Link
Howdy! Just downloaded the Binary RPM for Red Hat 7.2. Seemed to install fine (after I removed 2.2.3a) but when I try to use SWAT in Konquerer, it comes back and says that the link is broken to the machine name. I've tried: http://localhost:901, http://[ip]:901 and http://[machine name]:901. I do have SWAT checked in the Service configuration. Any particular reason it would do that?

smb connection question
Hello, I'm trying to do something with Samba that appears to be the reverse of the usual setup I've read about at numerous sites. I am trying to use the Samba client on a linux (SuSE 10.0) workstation to access a Windows server with shared network drives. I can connect to the server fine (my logon & pw are validated o.k.), both using GUI (Konquerer) and the command line. I can

Samba Server - WinNT Domain
I successfully joined my Redhat Linux 7.2 box to my Windows NT domain. I can ping it's IP address but not its Netbios name. I have it set to obtain the IP address form the NT DHCP. Also on the RH Linux box, when I try to browse the local network, I receive the error: Unable to connect to host localhost. My samba configurations are okay. And I have the nameserver set in the resolv.conf file

Network Settings in Wine
Hi! I'm using Slackware 11 and Wine 0.9.40. The problem is, Wine is not detecting my network settings, though it(Internet) works fine in my Slack. i can access the entire network (Company's), see the sambha shares in my slack, but when i try to run "ipconfig" or "ping", i got an error saying it was trying to user ICMP and this would not work unless used as root. SWAT drops quoted text in options
Having a little trouble with SWAT in Samba 3.0.3. When an option in smb.conf contains quotes, for example: add group script = /path/to/addgroupscript "%g" SWAT will, upon parsing smb.conf, display add group script = /path/to/addgroupscript and committing it causes the quoted portion to be dropped in smb.conf. Note that anything in double quotes (or, rather, after the first double

Failure at "request for second install disk"
I've been trying to install a CAD program called MicroStation that can install to either Win95, NT or DOS. I had recently established a config file that allowed Half-Life to run on my machine, so I thought this program could run with the same config. Nevertheless, with or without the config file the first disk happily copies all its files to its destination. At the point were I expect

issues with downloads.digium.com
Hi Sorry to use this public place, but IRC and emails to webmaster at digium have not helped in the past. I have several issues with using the files server downloads.digium.com, which has replaced the simple ftp/http file server ftp.digium.com. In downloads.d.c the directory listing is served through a seperate per-directory script with an obscure name. Let's look at

Step-by-step guide for PowerPoint under wine?
Dear All, is there a step-by-step guide on how to install PowerPoint 2000 with wine (I'm running PhotoShop 3 and UltraEdit with it, perfectly !) System: SuSE Personal 9.1, wine -version is 20040213-41. I tried to start the install with 'wine /path/to/CD-ROM/setup.exe', it takes forever and finally it returns with 'file not found'. The files are all there, expect that on the

Autocompletion not working in Konqueror
I''ve just had a look again at the autocompletion demo that Thomas put up at http://script.aculo.us/demos/ajax/autocompleter Unfortunately, in Konqueror (3.4.1) it doesn''t work at all. Not even an error is triggered. It does work nicely in Firefox. How about Safari? I don''t have the time right now to track this down systematically (maybe latter), but just from

Please note that Windows 9x clients are not true members of a domain for reasons outlined in this article. Therefore the protocol for support Windows 9x style domain logons is completely different from NT4 domain logons and has been officially supported for some time. Did you read this document? Let me know what needs to be updated and i will take care of it. Cheers, jerry
