PCI serial card works on 6.2 but not on 6.3
We have upgraded a box from 6.2 to 6.3-RELEASE. Afterwards the box does not
recognize its ST Lab I-160 serial card with Netmos 9845 Chipset. It worked
flawlessly on 6.2 with puc(4) driver.

some beginnerkernel questions
...found the message already dealt with in some
threads...
Root-NFS: No NFS server available, giving up.
VFS: Unable to mount root fs via NFS, trying floopy.
VFS: Insert root floopy and press ENTER
So I nw know that I have to recompile the XEN kernel according to my system.
Two questions:
I never kompiled a kernel before - so is there maybe a way to keep my Debian
confirguration that is working and just add this to the XEN stuff?
Regarding the devfs_mk-dir issue I found the solution to upgrade to kernel
2.6.13 or above. Is it corrct tat XEN 3 is still using 2.6.12 and as I have
to recompile the ker...

nmap and OpenSSH 3.0.XpX
....
It seems that OpenSSH 3.0.1p1 and 3.0.2p1 doesn't like the
nmap scan. I have put the logging to debug and run
"nmap -p 1- <machine>" and it resulted in the below:
error: accept: Software caused connection abort
Our servers are Solaris 2.6 and Solaris 8 machines with
OpenSSH kompiled on each and everyone of them and the result
is that the connections is bloken for some users and some
make it out of it alive.
OpenSSH is compiled without any extra arguments or other stuff.
