PXE Knife Pre-Release
Afternoon everyone, I thought I'd let you all know I've just finished up the first initial release of PXE Knife, a utility that makes use of Syslinux to provide a bunch of utilities that (mostly) come on floppy disks and are a true pain to try and deal with. The goal is to try and give a normal sysadmin enough good tools within a pxe boot environment be able to deal with a number of everyday tasks and t...

PXE Knife 0.0.2 released
Based on the initial feedback and bug reports concerning PXE Knife 0.0.1 I've made some updates, fixed a few programs that didn't work and cleaned things up a bit so that cd iso's could be created - thus was born PXE Knife 0.0.2. This will be the first release that will be broadcast more widely than the syslinux mailing list, but I still welcome f...

Help with PLSR with jack knife
Hi I am analysing a dataset of 40 samples each with 90,000 intensity measures for various peptides. I am trying to identify the Biomarkers (i.e. most significant peptides). I beleive that PLS with jack knifing, or alternativeley CMV(cross-model-validation) are multivariateThe 40 samples belong to four different groups. I have managed to conduct the plsr using the commands: BHPLS1 <-

GTX 670 Tips?
Gordan & David, Read about your latest work, and was thrilled to learn that both soft and hard mods are working. I bought the GTX 670 model in David''s article, I will be giving this a shot in a week. I was hoping to ask a few questions. 1. Is there a specific qemu version required (traditional or the new default)? 2. What (if anything) should be done after removing the resistors

How to extract component number of RMSEP in RMSEP plot
Hi R-listers, I would like to know how can i extract component no. when the RMSEP is lowest? Currently, I only plot it manually and then only feed the ncomp to the jack knife command. However, I would like to automate this step. Please let me know. Many thanks. Rgrds, [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

[LLVMdev] Proposal: split tools/opt/opt.cpp to OptTool and a smaller main()
Hello, I started some refactoring work on tools/opt/opt.cpp in r201116, but conceptually this is part of a larger effort. I'd like to consult with llvmdev@ about the best way to move this forward. Background: opt is a very useful swiss-army-knife tool, and its capabilities may be useful to custom tools. However, as it stands now opt is now very modular - almost all its functionality is contained within its main opt.cpp file. I think this is also the cause of some code duplication that currently exists between different LLVM tools. For exam...

I looked at the man page and it looks like it's the Swiss army > knife of Linux networking. Lots of subcommands. I'll dig through that. Probably a useful summary of ip (from iproute2) usecases: https://dougvitale.wordpress.com/2011/12/21/deprecated-linux-networking-commands-and-their-replacements/ While at it, forget about netstat and route as well ;) Alexande...

SoX support
For those of you who want to be able to decode Ogg Vorbis files into other formats, SoX (the swiss army knife of audio programs) now has Ogg Vorbis support in CVS. It can read Ogg Vorbis files and export the audio in any format SoX supports. You can also write Ogg Vorbis with it, but, because of limitations in the design of SoX, only output at 128kbps is supported. Note: Instructions on how to download...

CD rippers
ok, i'm puzzeled here I just recently reinstalled windows 2k, and i've been useing EAC to rip my CDs for a while now. i wanted to test it out (i had to reconfigure it) so i put in a burned CD with a few pretty bad scratches (used a hunting knife to make em) When i rip it i don't get any errors (with CDex to) but of course when i listen to it i hear them. This is strange bceause EAC has given me errors (reported) on much smaller sound distrotions, yet it doesn't with these large ones... Any one have any ideas before i go find t...
