Hi, I'm wondering how I can make my patched up mplayer work with other MPlayer frontends, such as mplayer-plugin, GMPlayer, SMPlayer and KMPlayer. When I play a video using mplayer normally with: mplayer video.ext, It detects the compiz video output and works fine, however when it is called from other players (AFAIK, it just creates a window then asks mplayer to display in it) with mplayer video.ext, I get this: Playing /home/Sam/Video/iM...

Hello! I'm doing GStreamer sink that uses video plugin, but the embeded XOverlay windows stay black (Totem). Sink created windows work fine. This could be the same issue with KMplayer etc. Has it been fixed? -- Suck my KOdE!

Daniel, these are all good ideas and worth progressing. However, it may be better not to merge too many goals in one format (MPEG-7 did that and ended up as a big mess). So, I suggest to start by structuring the types of things you want - then finding out which parts belong where into existing formats such as vorbis comment, Skeleton and CMML, and only then start to develop a new format.
