Quorum error
Had a problem starting Oracle after expanding an EMC Metalun. We get the

Resize ocfs....?
I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below]
I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04.
Per instructions...
Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 '
Supposedly this should work, but I get get....
The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G.
Aborting.

Expanding OCFS on EMC MetaLUN's
Just wanted to see if anyone has had the opportunity to expand a MetaLUN
on an EMC CLARiiON.
The O/S is Red Hat AS 2.1 running Oracle 9i RAC (4 node). The
filesystems are a series of LUNs combined into a MetaLUN that is
formatted and mounted as OCFS.
We are ready to expand a MetaLUN, but wanted to see if anyone has done
this "on the fly", ie: Expand the MetaLUNs while the systems are

Expanding (growing) Filesystemss
We want to expand the LUN's on our SAN. I have expanded the LUN's,
rebooted the hosts, now want the hosts to mount up the larger LUN, but
they still see the original size.
How risky is it to use tuneocfs to grow the filesystem after the
expanded LUN is presented to the host? I was unable to find anything
outside the man page for it.

Startup error- new install
Looking for any ideas where I need to look to fix this:
I'm installing RHEL3 AS (update 4) on Dell PowerEdge 6850's.
I've installed the hugemem kernels on these boxes and need to install
and run ocfs.
Kernel:
-------
2.4.21-27.0.4.ELhugemem
Loaded the ocfs rpm's
---------------------
# rpm -qa | grep ocfs
ocfs-2.4.21-EL-smp-1.0.14-1
ocfs-support-1.1.5-1
ocfs-2.4.21-EL-1.0.14-1

Automatically mount at boot
My ocfs filesystems used to mount automatically at boot, but now I've
noticed that I have to do a mount -a after the boot up is completed to
mount them.
I've checked the init state to see that ocfs is enabled at run levels 3,
4, & 5
# chkconfig --list ocfs
ocfs 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
Nothing shows up in the /var/log/messages file that would

Ocfs and EMC Powerpath
A couple years ago, we moved to Oracle RAC on Linux using ocfs that is
SAN attached to an EMC CLARiiON. At the time, there was a reason that we
did NOT use EMC's Powerpath (I just can't recall what that reason was).
What I'd like to know is if there are any issues with introducing
Powerpath now.
