Had a problem starting Oracle after expanding an EMC Metalun. I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below] I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04. Per instructions... Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 ' Supposedly this should work, but I get get.... The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G. Aborting.

Just wanted to see if anyone has had the opportunity to expand a MetaLUN on an EMC CLARiiON. The O/S is Red Hat AS 2.1 running Oracle 9i RAC (4 node). We want to expand the LUN's on our SAN. I have expanded the LUN's, rebooted the hosts, now want the hosts to mount up the larger LUN, but they still see the original size. How risky is it to use tuneocfs to grow the filesystem after the expanded LUN is presented to the host?
