Icecast/ices problem
...trailing metadata in one particular file -- icecast saw it as end of
stream.
After checking code updates on the TRAC system, I installed the kh branch
of icecast (kh13) and this seems to have fixed the spontaneous dropping of
the mountpoint due to this particular file.
BTW, I tried icecast-2.2-kh14.tar.gz from mediacast1.com/~karl but it
won't untar completely; it gives this:

icecast-2.2-kh14/doc/icecast2_admin.html

icecast-2.2-kh14/doc/icecast2_config_file.html

Strange change in icecast kh14 for IP logging
The problem is for statistics tools like Webalizer, which is expecting CLF log format
Common Log Format (CLF)
"%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b"
NCSA extended/combined log format
"%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-agent}i\""
Referer log format
"%{Referer}i -> %U"
Agent (Browser) log format

Please don't change the ordering of the fields. It's quite deliberately
ordered for compatibility with the Apache Common Log Format. (hmm... or is it
the Combined Log Format? I forget...)

I'm not sure what the changes in -kh would have with this, the mp3
difference is really just making sure there are blocks of a certain
size. I would need the test case to verify it.

Strange change in icecast kh14 for IP logging
Hello,
Karl, you added a compile-time flag to enable IP logging in icecast.
But, this changed a lot the log procuded:
81.53.41.160 - - [30/Nov/2003:10:09:11 +0100] "GET /admin/metadata HTTP/1.0" 200 155 "-" "ices/0.3 libshout/2.0-kh22" 0

icecast performance on many concurrentlow-bitrate streams
Hi Karl,
Thanks for your info. I have a standard Icecast-2.2 release with a few local patches. I'm a little apprehesive to apply my patches to the kh14 branch, so I'd rather patch my branch with the changes related to batched reads from the kh branch.
I've looked at your code to see if I could spot the changes related to batching reads. So far I have not been able to find where you've made this patch. Could you point me in the right di...

Icecast Instalation
Hello All,
I've tried to install the Icecast streaming server on my Slackware 10
without success.
Someone could help me on it? And what kind of modules I can set up?
Best Regards.

Icecast dies
ok
I think I did it correct:
I did this on a fresh copy of fedora fc4
Downloaded your icecast (kh14)
./configure
Make debug
Make debug install
Copied the icecast settings from my windows relay
[root@SERVERFC4 icecast]# icecast -c /usr/local/etc/icecast.xml
Changed groupid to 99.
Changed userid to 99.
Launched the /stream (mp3 128k) stream from winamp (latest)
Was playing fine...
Stopped the e...

I run Slackware 10.1 on numerous servers and icecast-2.2.0 and
icecast-2.2-kh14 compile and install "out of the box."
What kind of errors are you getting?

icecast performance on many concurrent low-bitrate streams
Hi all,
I'm running an Icecast-2.2 server with at peak times some 50 sources and 500 concurrent listeners all using low-bitrate 16kpbs streams. I'm experiencing some connection losses at these peak times ("Client connection died" message in error.log).
The machine running Icecast has a 100Mbit connection to the internet. It is a Celeron 2.4Ghz machine with 1Gbyte of main
