Want MySQL source rpms pertinent to CentOS 5.4; what packages should I request via yum?
...balls or rpms, only binary rpms.
I would like to compile MySQL from source.
BTW, what happened to centos.org? When using Firefox or Chrome it looks
like it is text-only as if I were visiting it with lynx!
Thanks in advance for pointers/advice towards answering a very lame
question.

looking for CentOS 5.0 x86_64 dvd iso (preferably not torrent); must be 5.0
Hi;
I'm looking for CentOS 5.0 x86_64 dvd iso (preferably not torrent); must be 5.0
All my web searches have come up with more recent versions of 5.x, not 5.0.
Can someone give me a URL I can wget with? I'd even be willing to
throttle down the wget).
Thanks,

Hi All;
Is there a corrupt iputils rpm located on one or more of the CentOS

Here's an excerpt of the output of my yum update -y command:

difficulties in compiling php-5.3.29 source from php.net using CentOS 7
Hello;
I'm having difficulties in compiling php-5.3.29 source from php.net
using CentOS 7.
I need to bring my PHP development and production environment forward
from PHP 5.3.3 which is using an abandoned php-template application
from sourceforge. Since I need to do this in stages (it would be nice
if I could just install the CentOS 7 php and apache versions with the
"best" current

how to convert 7 cd iso images into one dvd image?
...r an open source tool that will create a dvd
iso given the cd iso images?
Or how does one generate the dvd iso given a list of rpm files?
(Assuming I had a list of all of the needed rpm files).
It would be nice if one had something like "make centos_5.2_dvd_iso" :-)
Thanks,

Using CentOS 4.4 on very old Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop; would like suggestions regarding using KDE/GNOME in low RAM and low disk situation
Hi;
I'm new to the CentOS list and I only have experience with CentOS 4.3/4.4
on desktops. I just installed CentOS 4.4 on a very old Dell Inspiron 3500
laptop. I choose the desktop option and then deleted the kde and gnome
packages because I have only 192mb RAM and 4gb disk (total). I'd like
suggestions on how to maximize the effective usage of the laptop with CentOS
4.4...as a

CentOS 7.1 doesn't seem to have a functional default pdf reader installed (interesting)
Hi;
This is the first time that I've installed CentOS 7.1 with a GUI
(I've just used a CLI previously).
I'd like to read a pdf file and I don't see any pdf reader
applications installed by default.
This seems unusual to me. So I see that gs is installed, but it
doesn't really work very well for me as I can't seem to scroll to the
next page.
So what pdf reader

Unable to mount NetApp volume via smbfs on CentOS 6.6
Hi;
Unable to mount NetApp volume via smbfs on CentOS 6.6
I have been able to mount the NetApp via smbfs from a Mac but cannot
from CentOS 6.6
What I have in /etc/auto_smb on the Mac is:
/Volumes/build_dir -fstype=smbfs
://domain_name;account_name:password at machine_name/partition_name
What is the equivalent on CentOS 6.6?
I would be modifying /etc/fstab?
I don't see any examples (yet)
