UID and GID mapping throw DC and Member DC
After tried to solve the problem with "getent", I found another problem with the Member server. The member server works well, but the "uid" and "gid" mapping for users its incorrect. In the DC the "UID" "GID" its around 3000085 In the Member Server its around 2000 - 3000 For example: ADDC Server. --------------------- root at ACDC:/# wbinfo

Solaris 8/9 branded zones on ZFS root?
Hi all, I have a situation where I need to consolidate a few servers running Solaris 9 and 8. If the application doesn''t run natively on Solaris 10 or Nevada, I was thinking of using Solars 9 or 8 branded zones. My intent would be for the global zone to use ZFS boot/root; would I be correct in thinking that this will be OK for the branded zones? That is, they don''t care about

Samba 4 Member server show diferent UID than Ad Server
Hello friends, I come to ask for a hand. I have an AD server with Samba 4.1 and added a Member Server 4.4 without problems. The only problem I'm having is that the UID of users in the Member Server are different from the AD server. Ad Server KENNEDY\florenciaelmone:*:3000679:100:Florencia Elmone Domingues:/home/KENNEDY/florenciaelmone:/bin/false Member Server

Puppet logging
Hello all, I am trying to write a script that will check logs for puppet errors to use in a nagios check. I am checking /var/log/messages (RHEL6) but when puppet runs on its 30 minute interval, nothing gets written to messages. I have also looked at /var/log/puppet/puppet.log but that does not seem to be consistent either: [root@gm10v nagios]# tail /var/log/puppet/puppet.log Wed May 02 14:27:47

Puppet not pushing file
I have set up puppet on Ubuntu/Debian servers with no problem. I am trying to get puppet working in a RHEL environment. I have the client installed and the certificate is signed so I know the two are talking but for some reason I can not get puppet to push the file on to the client. What am I missing? OS - RHEL5.7 Installation Source - epel-testing repo Puppet server version - 2.6.6 puppetd

problem with smbios 2.13?
Hello, I''m using the latest b75 ISO to try and get a solaris dom0 running on my laptop, a Sony SZ-330P. The Xen LiveCD works just fine, so I know that theoretically it should work. Build 75 also works just fine on my Sony, including sound and video, etc. But when I try and boot the Xen kernel, the system hangs. There''s no panic printed to console. If I pass a -v option at

Hosts Allow
Samba Team, I would first like to thank you all for volunteering your time. I am currently running Samba version 2.2.8a on a SUN server using Solaris 2.9. I have read all the man pages, checked all the old archived postings, and check three books on Samba but still can't find the answer. My question is with the "hosts allow" line on the smb.conf file. I have several ranges that I

different plot symbols in key using xyplot
I'm using xyplot in a very simple way---a scatter plot of several data sets. I'm having a problem getting auto.key to display different point characters. The following produces a plot that employes different colors, all with pch(1), for the different groups, with a matching key. xyplot(Force~Time, rawData, groups=Sample, panel = panel.superpose, auto.key=TRUE) The following
