Asterisk forum created
I saw several threads requesting an Asterisk forum to complement the email list. i.e. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-dev/2004-February/003103.html I recently created an Asterisk forum within TMC's popular VoIP forums for everyone to use. http://voip-forum.tmcnet.com/voip-forum/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=15

wxruby-swig: where does wxclasses-2.4.2.xml comes from?
Was trying to understand more about the internals of wxruby-swig, where does the big chunk of XML comes from? I saw something similiar in Python, is that massaged out of there? The codes produced by extractxml.rb and wxclasses-2.4.2.xml is quite different from the original header files. Just for example the WxDialog class. OnXXX are non-virtual in WxWidgets, but virtual in wxruby-swig

Benchmark Disk IO
What is the best way to benchmark disk IO? I'm looking to move one of my servers, which is rather IO intense. But not without first benchmarking the current and new disk array, To make sure this isn't a full waste of time. thanks

Bug#703586: Bug#703586: Xen fails to boot Linux dom0 under UEFI
...le, your GPU might not be found without ACPI. (I don?t really know if that is true, just thinking out loud) Another reason why booting might not work is if you have the older e-801 issue. Both are solved with running Xen without Grub, straight on UEFI. Zap calls dropping just after answer
I've got a problem w/ zap calls being dropped right after they are answered. I have a log file: http://pastebin.com/368526 Everything looks OK except for the DEBUG[25563] chan_zap.c: Exception on 9, channel 1 that seems to come up quite often. As soon as the other end of the Zap answers (my cell phone), and I can even hear a half second of noise, the line goes dead and gets hungup. In

Hanging up on VoiceMailMain w/out putting in password causes call lockup
I've got an issue w/ 1.2.0beta1, where if I call VoiceMailMain from a sip phone, and then either put in incorrect passwords or just hang up, I never get a Spawn Extension that hangs up the call, and my sip phone is not capable of making any more calls until I restart the daemon. Can anybody help me fix this? -- Jesse Keating GameHouse -- Systems Engineer

Problem w/ Asterisk hanging when caller hangs up in voicemail
When I hang up in voicemail, Asterisk seems to stop responding. (hangup vs pressing # to disconnect). After that, no calls can be made until I restart Asterisk. In IRC, a developer seemed to think it had to do with me using switch => in my dial plan. Basically I never see the calling extension get the -1 signal. Can somebody help me figure out why this is happening and how I can fix it

wxclasses-2.4.2.xml
I couldn''t find the original tex document that the author of the xml file converted from. Anyone knows where it is? I am toying with the idea of _not using_ the xml file. Either getting the wx header files thru SWIG (I assume you guys have thought about this before already, any specific problems?), or continue with the template generator in the current wxruby-4.0. The RUBY port of

Database schema question
Im setting up a very basic rails app and have a question about the needed migrations & associations. Basically, my app is an occasion reminder service that emails users when occasions that they select or input are coming up. Occasions will be selected from a checkbox type list or alternatively manually input by the user (name and date of the occasion). Users can have_many occassions.

Bug#858962: Request: enable OVMF at build time in 4.8 as it does not require non-free anymore
...ist at compile time. In this case I chose to use the path where the OVMF package installs the binary firmware file so it can be automatically used. 512sector problem
Hello, I've got a boot image that is of size 1722, so to put it on floppy, I use dd if=boot.img of=/dev/fd0u1722 but if I try to run syslinux on this floppy afterward, I get: [root at yoda root]# syslinux /dev/fd0u1722 /dev/fd0u1722: Sector sizes other than 512 not supported Is there some way around this? Can we use syslinux on this type of floppy disk? Lilo works, but we would really

Rsync: Re: patch to enable faster mirroring of large filesyst ems
In my particular case, it is reasonable to assume that the size and timestamp will change when the file is updated. (We are looking at it as a patching mechanism.) Right now it's actually using update time only, I should modify it to check the file size as well. Is there a way you could query your database to tell you which extents have data that has been modified within a certain timeframe?

Any plans to switch wxruby-swig to using rexml?
since http://nqxml.sourceforge.net/ also recommends that we switch to use rexml which is shipped with ruby? If there are plans for it but no developers, I might take it up as an exercise to learn the internals of wxruby-swig. Cheers, Phuah Yee Keat

Logon Hours with Samba PDC

I have set up a a Samba PDC and have mapped shares, authenticated users, blah blah blah, .... everything seems to work fine. I checked with 'rpcclient' to see what sort of information is
