HFSC simple curves configuration
...to configure this algoritm properly. Maybe somone can help me and write a little example for me (the best will be Patrick McHardy who has ported HFSC to linux) - please just three queues. My situation: Let say I have 1Mbit of bandwidth. I need three queues: - prio queue (with low delays, and 100 kbit guaranted rate ) - 1_client queue (with 0 kbit guaranted rate and fairness share the unsued rest of bandwidth) - 2_client queue (with 0 kbit guaranted rate and fairness share the unsued rest of bandwidth) Here you can field the queues configuration: tc qdisc add dev imq0 root handle 1:0 hfsc defa...

Hi, We have a 256 kbits/s (kilobits per second) link to the internet. it is a router running Linux that belongs to our ISP. They have given us 8 internet ips. (i.e- subnet is 255.255.255.248). one has been given to this router. I have given another internet ip to the firewall running CentOS 4.5. iptables is running on i...

Allocating 64 kbits/s out of 256 kbits/s for one LAN behind firewall
...I have given many SNAT rules per ip basic. some users have full access, some have only web and smtp. I have added many forward rules to suit those SNAT rules. All work fine. one LAN is 192.168.100.0/24, while the other LAN is 192.168.101.0/24 Now, I want LAN with 192.168.101.0/24 to allocate 64 kbit out of 256 kbit. the rest for others. I added rules to the firewall. But I still can not allocate 64 kbit for LAN with 192.168.101.0/24 I think I need a PREROUTING chain for LAN with 192.168.101.0/24 Script is given below. INTERFAZ_INT=eth0 FULLBANDWIDTH=256 BANDWIDTH4LAN=64 iptables -t ma...

rtp payload lenth
...x in RTP. I were watching tcpdump of the xlite softphone and have found that it uses weird payload length namely 75 Bytes I went through various source and without success. To be clear: For 8000Hz sample in 20 ms that is 160 samples per frame. This makes 50 frames per sec. modes bit-rate 8 kbit/s (narrowband mode 3) = 20 bytes per frame 11 kbit/s (narrowband mode 4) = 28 bytes per frame 15 kbit/s (narrowband mode 5) = 38 bytes per frame 18,2 kbit/s (narrowband mode 6) = 46 bytes per frame 24,6 kbit/s (narrowband mode 7) = 62 bytes per frame And for VBR frame size is from a...

Bandwidth monitoring tool
Hi. I am trying to shape my upstream bandwidth, mostly per port. and I am having some problems getting things to work the way I want them to. before I throw my configuration at you guys ;), I`d like to debug it by myself - but I was not able to find a tool that allow me to monitor current bandwidth usage per port (and preferably even per port+ip). I want to know what is the current bandwidth

Hi all, I''ve got a BOX running CentOS 4.5. It acts as a firewall + router. I have installed both iptables and iproute2. I has 3 network cards. eth0 is connected to Internet (is has an internet ip. pls assume its ip is 1.2.3.4/29). it is a 256 Kbit link. eth1 is DMZ. its ip is 192.168.100.254 eth2 is LAN. Its ip is 192.168.101.254 I have alreday shaped traffic to 64 Kbit on eth1 for downloadig (i.e DMZ zone ). This is the sript that does the job. It works ine. #traffic shaping on eth1 (Downloading) INTERFAZ_DMZ=eth1 FULLBANDWIDTH=256 BAND...
