is ipp2p working (kazaa)
i am using ipp2p module (v 0.6) from
http://rnvs.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/ipp2p/index_en.html
I have tried it on kazaa and e-donkey connections.
Unfortunately, I am interesting in limiting kazaa traffic, which
this modules seems not to work right with it. (Kazza traffic is
not identified most of the cases....).
Has anyone tried this kazza bandwidth control???

wondershaper htb P2P downloads
...r the wondershaper utility!
It has improved the response time for my ssh connections to my home
server whenever i need to access it from the Internet.
However, is there a way to setup a bandwidth, say 10kbits/sec (i only
have 128kbits/sec DSL), and assign it to a particular traffic type like
kazaa and other P2P file-sharing?
This way it will guarantee that my home users of kazaa will only eat up
and share that total small amount amongst my family and nothing more.
I don''t want to restrict P2P usage in my home network but just put a
configurable limit. Any help will be greatly ap...

Blocking p2p traffic
Greetings, I''ve searched, found ftwall, and some other commercial solutions, but am wondering if anyone on this list has any solutions using a linux firewall to block p2p traffic, more specifically Kazaa.

Request for Kazaa Info input into Shorewall Wiki
...horewall wiki (http://wiki.rettc.com/wiki.phtml?title=Wiki_Shorewall_FAQ)
and though its evolution is slow, there is definitely evolution. Maybe it
will become useful yet.
I looked at this recent post:
http://wiki.rettc.com/wiki.phtml?title=Talk:Port_Forwarding
Here someone has requested help for Kazaa.
I am sure this info is within the docs and mailing list archive.
But, if some shorewall user is out there and has a sucessful Kazaa
experience, I was wondering if you could take a few minutes and write a bit
of info about it, and insert it into the wiki.
I do not have the resources to investiga...

Kazaa
Hi,
Im using build 20020228 from the Transgaming CVS Server (which is supposed to be one of the latest).
I'd like to use Kazaa or Kazaa lite, and while both install flawlessly, I can't get them to run.
When I try to run Kazaa.exe, I get a popup window saying "failed to create empty document", and the following console output:

OGG in P2P networks?
I'm still looking for a P2P network (i.e. Gnutella, KaZaA, etc.) and client
that actively supports the OGG format. People have told me that since
Gnutella is so flexible that it is also possible to trade .ogg files. In reality, I
haven't seen a single client using the Gnutella network that could search and
truly FIND an .ogg file. Does anyone know of...

Torrent support in IPP2P
Hello, I guess a few of you know about the iptables-p2p project at the
http://sourceforge.net/projects/iptables-p2p site. This suite has an
excellent filter of which I use today and its running very smoothly.
The main reason why I use this is because I desperately need to block
torrents. IPP2P does not do this at this time (it seems to me in the doc
at least). Is it maybe some way we could merge

improve ipfw rules
>> 3. I'm intrested in blocking kazaa/P2P trafic with IPFW any help in this
issue
you could possibly block connections at known p2p ports.
deny tcp from any to any 6699 step
but most of the newer protocols use dynamic ports and in turn, are
configurable.
so ipfw isn't exactly ideal on it's own for this.

limit number of TCP connections.
Hi all. I have a simple question. Is that a way to limit the number os TCP or UDP connection of a single HOST in my network?
For exemple:
I have a host with IP 192.168.1.202 and he is using edonkey, Kazaa, and Bittorrent at the same time, and he also is infected by a virus that opens more than 500 TCP ports at the same time. So, i want to limit that host to be able to open no more then 30 TCP connections at once, so he wouldnt hurt the other users.
Thanks in advance,
Cristiano Soares
