aastra 9133i DTMF tones
...DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I googled, to no avail. -Karl Katzke

Firefox, Flash and Java on CentOS 4.1 x86-64
.... but there's no 64-bit build of the Flash plugin. (Thanks, Macromedia! You suck!) What's the best way to provide Flash (and maybe Java?) with Firefox on this server box? How big will the performance hit be from running non-64 bit packages? Any specific tips & hints? Thanks! -Karl Katzke

My username is KyleODonnell Let me know what y...

Xen Newbie: Full Virtualization Kernel Panics / Pauses
...icate with the Gutsy Gibbon load that it''s hanging at vtpm. xend-debug.log states "cat: /etc/xen/vtpm.db: No such file or directory". I''m too n00b to know if this is a bug or not, but it seems like this should work. Any ideas on what I''ve missed? Dovecot .99.11 build fails; libiconv
...;s settled by a specific version of glibc, which I don't have in my glibc-2.3.4-2 ... and yes, I do have -common, -devel, -headers, -kernheaders, etc. installed for i686. I do have iconv.h on my system, but dovecot is specifically looking for libiconv. Anyone seen this before? Thanks, Karl Katzke

postfix tightening
I am used to sendmail and am using Postfix now and am uncertain of some features. I typically would comment out the line in sendmail.mc that went something like 'accept unresolvable domains' I tried using smtpd_sender_restrictions = reject_unverified_sender reject_unverified_smtp and this seems a bit too restrictive and got some bounces on legitimate senders so I'm

Small office setup/using analog lines w/ Asterisk
Hi, We recently tried installing Asterisk for a small office. We figured the safest way to go would be to buy from someone who sold equipment specifically for Asterisk and to use a consultant that they recommended. However ... it didn't turn out so great. Sound quality is terrible -- the echo is pretty bad, and there are popping noises, too. Callers say that people on the Asterisk end

Performance drop during scrub?
Hi all I have a test system with snv134 and 8x2TB drives in RAIDz2 and currently no Zil or L2ARC. I noticed the I/O speed to NFS shares on the testpool drops to something hardly usable while scrubbing the pool. How can I address this? Will adding Zil or L2ARC help? Is it possible to tune down scrub''s priority somehow? Best regards roy -- Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk (+47) 97542685 roy at
