...purposes. Network hooked to a Linksys Cabel Modem router, So NAT behind the scenes. Linux has two interfaces One public,on 12. subnet - and the other private on the 192. subnet. All laptops get IP from Linksys router (So on Private network) My first goal is to set samba to share one printer (HP-K80) Printer works finin Linux. Have gone into the /etc/samba/smb.conf file and changed he Globals to # workgroup = NT-Domain-Name or Workgroup-Name netbios name = COMPUTER1 workgroup = WORKGROUP Changed printers to NOTE: If you have a BSD-style print system there is no need to # specific...

Function address causes a protection fault.
Hello all. I'm using a HP Office Jet K80 on a RedHat 7.3, kernel 2.4.18-3, using the USB port and Samba 2.2.3a. I've installed the new driver to support usb printing, namely HPOJ-0.80. I can use lpr <filenames with.ps> and it prints fine, also a test page from printconf-tui is no problem. So the Linux side seems to be fine....

[OT] spa3000 (Regional & Line1) NL settings required
Dear all, Can someone from Netherlands who has SPA3000 send me the Regional & Line1 settings. I'm not sure what is wrong but I can call from asterisk to phone attached to spa300 FXO, but not the other way. I tested three phones: siemens gigaset, tiptel 160 and hpoj k80(fax). Only tiptel 160 can call to the asterisk, other two just dial but nothing happens. I guess this has something with the Regional settings?? Printing:using usb port.
...m running Samba 2.2.3a I'm still not printing though. I removed the printers I configured using 'printconf-tui' and added a new local printer device, using /dev/usb. This was to narrow down the problem to between the Red Hat Linux Server and the printer. The printer is a HP OficeJet K80 series, and the package has reference to it and a suitable driver, namely hpijs. I think the problem lies with the usb port. I installed the PCI 2 PORT USB 1.1 CARD for our UPS, but we've always used the serial port as it works, so I have never figured out how to mount and use the port. My...

...problem probably lies with printcap. Your smb.conf looks OKay (except for the 'path' mentioned above). >This is Printcap: >This Works. ># HP DeskJet 1220c printer: >HP1220c:sd=/var/spool/lpd/HP1220c:rw:sh:rm=hp1220c:rp=raw: > >This doesn't work. ># HP OfficeJet K80: >HPK80:sd=/var/spool/lpd/HPK80:rw:sh:rm=jd500x:rp=raw1: This all looks good too. The 'rw' is irrelevant for a remote printer, as is the 'sh' (annoyingly). The device names are right, although I'd have to recommend 'auto1', 'auto2' and 'auto3' inst...

dom0 networking disabled
Hi folks, I''ve been trying to work out this situation for a few days now without much success and dug all over the archives for similar issues, none of which seem to relate exactly. I installed Debian Etch and the Xen (3.03) kernels / binaries on a Dell server. It works fantastic with all the default configurations with one strange flaw - as soon as the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
