User Migration question
.... PAM uses LDAP to store PosixAccounts
New Setup:
Samba 3 with "native" LDAP. PosixAccounts are already migrated to my new
LDAP server.
I tried pdbedit with my old smbpasswd file:
---snip---
# pdbedit -i smbpasswd:./smbpasswd
build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt! username jwitte with
uid 1000 is not in unix passwd database!
---snip---
But:
---snip---
# getent passwd|grep jwitte
jwitte:x:1000:1000:Jochen Witte:/home/jwitte:/bin/bash
---snip---
Any hints?
Regards
Jochen

Klicking sounds in background
...two asterisks,
but the same effect appears. Whenever there is PSTN involved, I have these
klicking sounds, when there is no PSTN, everything works correctly.
The setup works great with different SIP peers (others than the Intel...)
Anyone has an idea?
Best regards
Jochen

Files to backup
Hi ppl,
I have a question more then problem, if I'm going to reinstall my Linux box from scratch, what do I have to backup for the Samba to work, beside the smb.conf & smbpasswd?
Are those files enough to save the configuration?

SWAT and SuSE 8
Hi
I am an absolute beginner and have just loaded SuSE v8 onto a new
computer
I have made sure that I chose Samba and samba-client amongst the
software when I loaded up.
Now, wanting to access swat, type http://localhost:901/ into my browser
and get an error message. It seems that localhost:901 can't be found.
Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong could be?

syncing unix passwords
I give up. I had this working and now it isn't and I don't know why. I was
able to sync unix password using smbpasswd but now it won't work. When I
run smbpasswd it changes the samba password but acts like it doesn't even
see the parameters in the smb.conf to change the unix password.
Here is a sample changing session:
as400:# ./smbpasswd xxxxxx
New SMB password:
