Regular expressions: offsets of groups
Dear list! > gregexpr("a+(b+)", "abcdaabbc") [[1]] [1] 1 5 attr(,"match.length") [1] 2 4 What I want is the offsets of the matches for the group (b+), i.e. 2 and 7, not the offsets of the complete matches. Is there a way in R to get that? I know about gsubgn and strapply, but they only give me the strings matched by groups not their offsets. I could write

question about "srt" argument in text() plotting function
Just wondering: it appears that "srt" does not accept a vector of values, just a single value. I ended up using tapply() as the following code snippet shows, so it's not a major problem. I was justa little surprised that this argument (srt) differs from things like "labels," "lty," "col," and so on, all of which accept (and recycle as needed IIRC) vectors. Carl ******* code follows ******* dialang<-seq(pi/3,-pi*3/2,by=-pi/6) d2<-as.charact...

New Set of High Performance Networking Patches Available
http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/hpn-ssh/ Mike Stevens and I just released a new set of high performance networking patches for OpenSSH 3.9p1, 4.0p1, and 4.1p1. These patches will provide the same set of functionality across all 3 revisions. New functionality includes 1) HPN performance even without both sides of the connection being HPN enabled. Adviced way of tagging music
I change a lot of my CD to Ogg to be able to listen them easily from my computer (I use foobar, I was used to WMP but it does not support library for Ogg files and plug-ins I found for this where poor) without the need for frequent CD changing. I like my music to be richly tagged. But with classical music CD it is a real pain to tag those files. Typical problems involve: - single CD
