Possible memory leak in smbd?
I noticed one of my smbd processes for one particular client (IUSR_JUNIPER)
is taking 200MB in memory, far different from all the other smbd processes.
Should I be concerned about a memory leak here? I don't think samba would
be caching any files, so I can't see why it'd use this much memory.
That windows client is a win2k IIS5 server, with well over 60 sites that are
hosted off a

Sr. SysAdmin position availble at Juniper Networks, Sunnyvale
NOTE: The position is within the IT organization at Juniper, of which
I am not a part. I do not have first-hand knowledge of the working
conditions, and cannot speak to that with authority. I would, however,
encourage anyone intending to express interest to ask about anything
that might be a concern -- preferably during the interview process.
My bias would be to favor someone who wishes to

Juniper network--Ran under 0.9.58, fails under 1.1.23
I am running Mandriva. Under 2008.1 I ran wine 0.9.58 and ies4linux and using this was able to access my desktop at work via Windows Terminal Session which runs Juniper Network. Under Mandriva 2009.1, wine 1.1.23 is installed and everything runs until I try to access my desktop at work via Windows Terminal Services and the process hangs when dsTermServ.exe is begun and the window freezes and I

juniper netscreen (ssg5) and centos
Hi all,
Lookin to do an IPSEC VPN between a Juniper SSG5 and Centos 5.5.
Reading some docs that ref /etc/ipsec-tools.conf but they do not exist
on my box being Centos 5.5.
The package ipsec-tools is installed and I'm guessing /etc/racoon/
racoon.conf is what I am looking for.
Anyways, some help would be very appreciated.

Pulse Secure/Juniper Networks Network Connect (CentOS 7)
Hi,
Is anyone here using the "Network Connect" VPN software from Pulse
Secure (which was previously known as Juniper Networks Network Connect)?
I've used this successfully in the past to connect to the machines at
work from home. That was with CentOS 6, though, on CentOS 7 I can't seem
to get it to work. The software actually starts, and it also
successfully sets up a

EDNS support
I am having problems with EDNS support on a few Centos 6.3 bind
servers. I am trying to determine if the problem is my Juniper SSG5
firewall of Centos.
All the servers have firewall enabled, though I have tested with
stopping iptables and ip6tables. I am using tests from:

Support DHCP sname field in PXELINUX
I have discovered that the JUNOS DHCP server in Juniper J-series routers
doesn't support setting the next-server IP address field (I have filed a
bug report with Juniper and they are working on it). Instead, it puts
the "boot server" in the sname field, which PXELINUX currently ignores.
Here's a simple patch (vs. 3.36) that will take an IP string in the
field. My assembly is

puppet ldap integration question
I want to deploy puppet with openldap for specific node configuration,
but only for specific nodes, every other node (not in LDAP) should
follow the ''default'' node definition.
Is it possible to mix and match like this?
As I try it I am getting err: Could not retrieve catalog: Could not find
node ''myhostname'' instead.

Vlan trunk/QinQ connected to KVM guest
I am running KVM guests under Redhat 6. I tried to setup a bridge
device to an interface with a vlan trunk connected to a Juniper switch.
On the KVM host, I am able to define vlans and access them via the vlan
trunk. I was not able to access a vlan from the kvm guest connected to
the bridged interface. I believe this would be what is commonly called
QinQ or 802.1ad. Is this possible to do? I
