Wikipedia article
Hi there,
I've been having a go at improving the Wikipedia article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theora
I've updated the technical details a bit, improved the references,
tidied up the wording, removed some FUD, updated the 1.1 beta status,
and added the Youtube comparisons.
I've left out the Google On2 purchase for now as there's nothing
concrete yet.

Problem printing from NT to printer attached to LInux box
I installed Samba 2.2.2 on my Linux box. The smb.conf file is as shown
below. The permission on /var/spool/lpd/lp is set to 755; ie, it is
writable only by the owner, which is lp. With the setup as is, when I
try to print from the NT machine, the smb log on the Linux box
indicates the following error: " print_job_start: insufficient
permissions to open spool file /var/spool/lpd/lp".

SwitchTower 1.0.0
SwitchTower is a utility that can execute commands in parallel on
multiple servers. It allows you to define tasks, which can include
commands that are executed on the servers. You can also define roles
for your servers, and then specify that certain tasks apply only to
certain roles.

Monty on holiday
Hi folks,
My wife and I are taking a long weekend to celibrate our anniversary. I won't
be around again until Wednesday to answer email or do anything else on Vorbis.
Yeah, I know, I usually answer my email once a month anyway (so likely no one
would notice me being gone), but just so folks know if anything really juicy
comes up :-)
I'll be merging my latest branch with mainline

xen: how does XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST work?
0) The Kconfig symbol XEN_PRIVILEGED_GUEST got added to the mainline
Linux repository in v2.6.37. It has never been used. It has always been
a nop.
1) Its Kconfig entry is preceded with this comment:
# Dummy symbol since people have come to rely on the PRIVILEGED_GUEST

What does that mean?

the problem of buying and selling
I own a lot to the folks on r-help list, especially arun who answered every
of my question and was never wrong. I am disinclined to once again ask this
question, since it is more arithmatic than technical. But, having worked 2
days on it, I realized my brain is just not juicy enough....
Here is the problem.

etherchannel/port group/bonding plus vlan works well
I figured I should post this because before I went to do it I searched
the web for caveats etc and didn''t really find much. So anyway, I set
up bonding + vlan for a project. Computer is dell powerdge 350 with 2
intel 82559 10/100 nic running stock 2.4.20. I tried both the eepro100

Codeweavers
Today October 28, they are giving their software for free. Yes. Interest is
go great they had to take their main site offline! Downloads can be done from
the subsitute web page.
So ... is their's really better than Wine on Debian Sid or Experimental? I
have no need for MS-office. OO is more than good enought. However ... the
question remains :-)
They also offer a games package.
