IPTables GUIs
Hi,
This is semi-OT, but is Centos-related.
I'm looking for an IPTables GUI to help us with our expanding
network configuration. I know there's plenty out there, but most of
them seem to manage the firewall on the computer on which they run, or
only handle one firewall at a time. I need one that can easily manage
multiple firewalls from some sort of central location/repository, i.e.

proper way to process dataframe by rows
...when apply iterates over the rows, it uses
as.matrix() to convert the dataframe to a character representation of
itself. Thus my database's carefully planned data types (that RODBC
carefully preserved when returning query results) get completely lost as
I process the data. I've taken to judiciously sprinkling as.numeric()
and friends here and there, but this is just begging for bugs.
In other words, what is the smart way to process a dataframe by rows? Or
is there, by chance, a specific technique or practice that is available
for RODBC results but not for dataframes in general?
Thank you...

Asterisk 11 queue calls - emulate Dial(b) functionality
I currently run an Asterisk 10 system with hotdesking functionality set up. Several of the users have worked with a system in the past that supported BLF on their IP phones, and would like their current phones to behave in a similar fashion. Right now I have a really kludgy system that mostly works, but doesn't consistently trigger the cleanup macro to "clear" the device state on

reloading a new kernel
Hi - is it possible to load a SMP version of a kernel on a system running
a single CPU version of the kernel without a reboot?
For instance, a quad CPU system was accidentally booted as
2.6.9-78.0.5.EL
but we need to load
2.6.9-78.0.5.ELsmp
instead.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to upgrade my customized CentOS 5.5 to CentOS 7. For this I

that are there in the existing customized version of CentOS 5.5.
I could install some of the packages, but the following packages I couldn't

2.mod_perl
3. 3.notification-daemon
4. 4.vixie-cron
5.kudzu

Good news on WxWidgets 2.8.0
Hi
Just tried out the most recent dev release (2.7.1) of WxWidgets.
The first bit of good news is that 2.7.1 has lots of attractive new
widgets, such as RichTextCtrl, pickers, and the AUI. This is an add-on
that''s now been merged into the core, and provides sophisticated things
like dockable toolbars, perspective layouts, semi-transparent dragging
etc. They seem to have brushed up

Hi,
First, I would like to apologize for the out-of-topic post. I will keep
this as short as I possibly could.
Does anybody know Dr. Francis T. Seow, the former Solicitor-General from
the Republic of Singapore? I want to contact him but can't seem to find
his email address or telephone number on the internet. Could you help me?
Do you also know how I can contact all the justices of the

After that, I?d like to plot a cluster tree.

Add use of dput() to the instructions at bottom of post?
It's often difficult to figure out what a problem data set looks like when someone pastes a mess of output from R into an e-mail. The dput command, used judiciously?I would hope no one would send a 1 M data set?can make life much easier.
I wonder if it would be useful to add a hint in the instructions at the bottom of the posting page, where the list asks for self-contained reproducible code, to also hint at using dput() to supply sample data?
I suspect a co...

Everyone,
I am putting together a new gateway machine that controls all of the
traffic in and out of one of our offices. ?We we have a machine with
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)??with 3.10.0-327.10.1.el7.x86_64

change our internet providers, but unfortunately Comcast would not

Scatterplot of many variables against a single variable
LOL. Great reply Jim.
(N.B. Jim's conclusion is "debatable" by a judicious choice of seed. e.g.
set.seed(79) suggests that making the request more readable will actually
lower the number of useful answers. :-))

cifs.upcall not respecting krb5ccname env var?
Hello,
I've been doing some extensive troubleshooting with respect to some issues
mounting CIFS shares on a Windows box via Kerberos. We're using the command:
/sbin/mount.cifs //whatever/whatever /whatever -o sec=krb5i
This should mount the share using Kerberos & Packet-signing by using the
cached credentials of the user executing the command. With judicious use of
strace, it
