relaying http://mirror.fluendo.com:8800/
Hi all,
Thanks to Fluendo test stream at http://mirror.fluendo.com:8800/,
I have done some quick hacks on my streaming server JRoar
(http://www.jcraft.com/jroar/) and, now it can relay OggTheora streams.
If you are interested in it, you can try

Ogg streams from JRoar for testing.
Hi folks,
I'm developing ogg streaming server JRoar(http://www.jcraft.com/jroar/).
At present, two JRoars are running at following URLs,
* http://ogg.radiostudio.org:8000/
* http://61.207.105.109:8000/
and you will find some streams on them. If you have ogg vorbis player,
please try them. The newest source code is available at

JRoar has not been so...

JRoar can dish out pure Java Vorbis player.
Hi,
I have developed the streaming server JRoar(http://www.jcraft.com/jroar/).
In the recent improvement, JRoar can dish out pure Java Vorbis Player
and become the applet host. You may know that you can get JOrbisPlayer applet
from http://www.jcraft.com/jorbis/player/JOrbisPlayer.php ,
however that applet is digitally signed.
By this hack, you can enjoy the live ogg vorbis stream by the applet

Any android source client for icecast ?
I don't have an Android phone, but if I did, I would look for a VLC
port, or a try a Java source client like JRoar.
It would be interesting to find out if either of these work!

hey,
Adam here from FLOSS Manuals (http://www.flossmanuals.net). We write
free manuals about free software and in August (10-15) we will hold Book
Sprint (http://www.flossmanuals.net/booksprints) about Ogg Theora. We
will write a really good manual (book) about Ogg Theora in 5 days. The
event will be in Berlin.
We want to cover a lot of stuff, but we hope to get our teeth into at

Any android source client for icecast ?
Try "XIIALive Lite", it works perfectly for my Icecast/Vorbis stream.
The 'lite' version is free and works fine (ad supported).

Test files for decoder implementation
Hi,
I am trying to implement a Vorbis decoder in Java, and I have some
problems understanding the file-format specification included with
libvorbis. In the header description, there are a few obvious mistakes,
which I believe to have solved, but when I try to decode the audio
packets, the decoded floor and residue data doesn't seem to make
sense at all, and after a few packets, my decoder

intended login protocol for icecast2
well, don't get me wrong, I am not generally opposed to progress, but
speaking as a coder of source clients, providing yet another authentication
mechanism is a bit frustrating....
I guess it wasn't too bad having to deal with Shoutcast/Icecast/Icecast2
specific connection protocols (yes they are ALL different!) but I am NOT
going to support Shoutcast/ICecast/Icecast2 (ICE

What would be required is support for ogg/flac in the streaming client (and
perhaps in the server, depending on how sophisticated it is), by

The dates on the email look very odd - is this a 2010 event? got an
event coordination site?
Sounds like a great idea - thx Ed

an underlying muclibc userland or bionic.

Any android source client for icecast ?
Hi all ,
Just wondering if any Android icecast source is on the Way.
the point is that I build a mobile Icecast source with 3G. My choices are :
- Buy a X86 netbook with Ubuntu with 8 hours streaming
- Buy a GalaxyTab 7 inches ( same price ) on Android

He's asking for a SOURCE client, not a _listener_ client.
I don't think such a thing exists at the moment.

aliasing in icecast2
Hi,
I've been investigating setting up an icecast2 proxy to proxy an ogg
stream. In icecast 1, I would use the "alias" configuration entry to set
up the proxying. In icecast 2, I haven't been able to find any mention of
this functionality. Does it exist?
The message http://www.xiph.org/archives/icecast/1546.html implies that it
is possible, but I've not found out how.

Vorbis streaming
Hi. Can anyone tell me the best way to stream Ogg Vorbis to an Icecast2 or
compatible server under Windows? I would need something that doesn't rely
heavily on graphics, as I have a blind friend who wishes to be able to do this.
Thanks,
Lorenzo

a question about Bitstream Header.
Hi,
I have a question about the format of Theora bitstream header.
It seems to me that there are differences between the specification[1]
(version 2004 Oct 1) and its reference implementation in
libtheora 1.0alpha3 released at 2004 Jun 1.
I mean that... please refer to Section 6.2 'Identification Header Decode'
in that specification[1] and the function
