reading table
...11.16 5.74 19 18.96"
" 4 3 7.27 5.54 27 11.58 5.95 18 18.97"
My question is there is a way to read the file either with skipping the
first column and the 7th,
Or how can i get to have a vector with the 4th column.
Thanks for the help,
Josephine

assigning two conditions to grep()
...all the lines with G23 N7,
neither the column 23 and the column N7 are unique
so i tried this
data[grep("^23*N7", data),]
but doesn't work
not either
x[(grep("^N7", as.character(x$V3))) &(grep("^23", x$V2)),]
he just returns everything.
thank u for any help,

limma "ref"
...I have a question about limma.
I have data from spotted arrays.
I have class A and Class B on the same slide. In Limma if I put class
A as the reference (ref), are the list of genes I get in the output for class A or
class B?
#design <- modelMatrix(targets, ref="classA")

Device drivers - pdf()
Hallo R-experts,
I produced a R graphic with the help of the following commands:
plot(0:4,0:4, type = "n", xlab = "X-Werte", ylab = "Y-Werte")
points(rnorm(100), rnorm(100), col = "black")
locator(2, type= "l")
locator(2, type = "l", col = "red")
I could display this graphic by using windows() before entering those
commands.

data manipulation for plotting
Hi,
i'd like to plot some data that I have with the value on the x axis and freq
on the y axis.
So, I need to calculate the freq a value is seen within my data vector
for example, say i have a vector of data
data=c(1,1,1,4,5,5,6)
I want
values<-c(1,4,5,6)
freq<-c(3,1,2,1)
in order to enable me to plot this. Sorry, i'm new to R. What is standard
