nchar on data.frames
I don't understand why nchar() gives different string lengths for vectors
in a list than it does for vectors in a dataframe. Here's a snippet of
code:
> temp <- list(text=c("thug","jimbob","apple","thug"),numbers=1:4)
> nchar(temp$text)
[1] 4 6 5 4
> temp <- data.frame(temp)
> nchar(temp$text)
[1] 1 1 1 1
Could someone explain how I can get the former behavior for a text vector
in a data.frame?
Thanks! RPM reports I'm using R-base-1.2.1-2....

settings/ subdirectory which contains the four special profiles folders
and their contents. The settings/ subdirectory is shared as [profiles].

Help: CallerID Name not being sent on outbound PRI trunk
Outbound calls on my Telus PRI aren't taking the Name portion of the
callerID. I've looked at the logs, and it is being set (see below), but
the PRI debug output doesn't show the name being sent anywhere. As a
result, received calls always display from Unknown (or just the number).
Is there some config that I've missed somewhere?
I'm running NI-1 (Telus says NI-2 doesn't
