Hello all, I'm running samba 2.2.4 on Sun Solaris version Sunos 5.8 generic_108528-17, Samba version 2.2.4 I'm getting this error in my /var/adm/messages and don't know what it means, I suspect it is also responsible for causing the delays in the application running from the shares. Squid and HTTPS interception on CentOS 7 ?
...;s. https://www.scholae.fr/ > > the https exist's because we want freedom and privacy on internet. Indeed. Except we have to stick to the law (article 227-24 from the French penal code) and provide filtered internet access so underage kids don't watch porn, build bombs or join the Jihad. Like pretty much every school, public library or administration in Western Europe. Samba + ACL backup solution
Hello all I am looking for a good backup solution for samba shares, I do not mean to start a jihad between rival backup religions, but I would appreciate any suggestions. I have tried star and love it, unfortunately there does not seem to be a gui or any frontend that can be used with it (it needs to be available to a couple of GUI-only (read as windows admin) people). Thanks again, Hamish

FLAC_index
Hi, Christian Weisgerber <naddy@mips.inka.de> wrote: > I guess the use of unsigned index variables was an accident. Changing > them back to int makes FLAC pass the "thorough" test suite on amd64. I was wondering why there isn't a FLAC_index (FLAC_index16 or FLAC_index32) type that would prevent someone from just "winging" it with a bad choice for an index to

Sync password (with MIT-kerberos server) and migration
Hello, my first post here :-), For several years, I are using samba 2.0 with local backend for windows stations and servers. NIS was our used for Linux stations and servers Now, LDAP /KERBEROS is replacing NIS and Samba (with ldap backend) will replace the local backend . My questions : 1- How can I migrate information form server1 (samba 2) to server2 (samba 3) ? I read the official Samba

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
.Call("compute_values_cpp") Also, if you were passing arguments to the C++ function you would need to declare the function differently. Squid and HTTPS interception on CentOS 7 ?
Hi, I've been running Squid successfully on CentOS 7 (and before that on 6 and 5), and it's always been running nicely. I've been using it mostly as a transparent proxy filter in school networks. So far, I've only been able to filter HTTP. Do any of you do transparent HTTPS filtering ? Any suggestions, advice, caveats, do's and don'ts ? Cheers from the snowy South of

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
Hi, I have written a small C++ function and compile it. However in R I can't see the function I have defined in C++. I have read some web-pages about Rcpp and C++ but it is a bit confusion for me. Anyway, This is the C++-code: #include <Rcpp.h> using namespace Rcpp; // [[Rcpp::export]] List compute_values_cpp(int totalPoints = 1e5, double angle_increment = 0.01, int radius =

Asterisk 1.0.9 long term stability <--thread hijack, why not reboot?
Disclaimer: Not a troll I'm curious as to this obsession with uptime is. All of the posts of this type are along the lines of "After X days, Y thing does not work but if I reload or reboot, it's OK" - so why not cron a reboot? Is it considered bad form or something like that? I reboot every night whether it is needed or not, not afraid to admit it, and everything works fine for

Postgresql vs MySQL
Is there any reason to avoid using postgresql for small web apps? That is, is it''s overhead so large that the lighter MySQL will work substantially better for small apps on small machines? Or are they very similar in performance and configuration? I''ve used MySQL but postgresql has its appeals and I''m wondering if I need to keep MySQL around at all. On the other
