'mgcv' package, problem with predicting binomial (logit) data
...fit=TRUE, type="response")
I1<-order(age_male)
plot(age_male[I1], test2.pred$fit[I1],lty=1)
This last plot, of the predictions, is not what I expect. It?s just a random
scatterplot, not what I would expect from the smoother plot. Does anybody
know what I did wrong?
Thanks in advance,

mgcv package plot superimposing smoothers
...he first one. Normally I use 'lines' to
plot just the line from the second plot in the first plot, but this doesn't
seem to work with the plot.gam function.
Does someone have a solution to plot these two smoothers in one graph, each
with a different color/line type?
Thanks in advance,

Changing permissions on /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf to 644 fixes the
problem, but I think this is not the best solution. Any i...

dynamily created , in the database,to store the answers of the
questions. the name of the table is answers_x (x is the id of the

Is it possible to dynamicly create a model, to handle the answer_x

File permission problems after update from Samba 4 alpha 17 to Samba 4.0.5
We had used Samba alpha 17 (included in Resara Server 1.2) for a long
time and
has now migrate it to Samba 4.0.5 (Ubuntu + Zentyal 3.0 PPA) with NTVFS
enabled .
Most things seems to work: DNS with Bind9_DLZ, domain join, user login
and also GPO are still working fine :)
But we have trouble with file permissions now!
All domain users can't rename or delete their own files which they had

Running dovecot on embedded device?
...ming mail will be fetched from the isp mailbox.
The specs of the QNAP TS-212 are:
* ARM Marvell Kirkwood 1.2GHz CPU
* 256MB DDRII RAM
Is this sufficient to run dovecot, and will the performance be acceptable? I'm
not expecting something lightning fast, but something that is acceptable.

Copy this code in a new file named 'inet_addr.c' in the 'lib' directory,
add 'lib/inet_ntop.o lib/inet_pton.o lib/inet_addr.o' in the 'LIBOBJ='
line of the Makefile, and everything will be OK.
Hope this helps,

Help with migrations and create
...Am I doing something wrong, or is it inappropriate to create more than a
single row of data in a table using migrations? What is the correct way
to populate application necessary data (not test data - actual data, in
this case some prompt value for validation) into any environment?
Thanks much!

dovecot lda truncates messages
I'm running dovecot 1.0.rc2 (package from ubuntu 6.10) and use the
dovecot lda 'deliver' (also a package from ubuntu 6.10 with sieve
filtering) to deliver messages to maildir. Everything works well, until
I discovered a truncated message this week.
The problematic message is a message bounced by the majordomo
mailinglist software. I think the problem is related to the fact that

Fun with TrippLite
Hey
I recently picked up a couple SMART1000LCD TrippLite UPS's. These are
similar to other usb ups's that have been mentioned on the list in the
past few months. I tried a few patches posted last month and got some
amount of success. That being said, I am thus far unable to get much love
from the actual upsd itself. Any pointers in terms of what I may need to
change or what help I can

Hershey fonts for musical notation?
Hi,
I'd like to know if it is possible to use Hershey vector fonts to create very primitive musical notation.
If I can hang some whole notes on these lines
X11()
plot(0,0, xlim=c(0,10), ylim=c(0,10))
# Staves:
for (i in c(seq(from=2,to=2.8,by=0.2),seq(from=4,to=4.8,by=0.2)))
{
abline(h=i)
}
it is enough.
Best wishes,
