...experience with BackupExec and Samba? BackupExec refuse to access Samba shares. Windows shares are OK, but all my Samba shares are not. I have Samba on at least 2 Linux 2.4 machines + 1 on Solaris. Neither ones work with BExec. Any idea? Other have experience with BExec and Samba? There was a similar hack for SED in the libtool file with a JEC comment. Interestingly, egrep was used in the script as $EGREP - sed was wrapped in braces ${SED}. hi all, as i heard, i need winbind to connect linux-clients on samba. i installed this - without pam (in the hope this would work...) but this constellation seems to be needed, as i still cannot connect, even if winbind logs my domain as accepted. Do i really have to do the pam-configuration on the samba-server-side too?? i just thought, it was enough to authentificate against smbpasswd. is

How do I compile samba with >2GB support? I am running Linux 2.4.2. I know that my Linux machine works with large files, I have a 4GB tarball on my machine. What I am trying to do is get our mainframe to pass 6-20GB files to my samba box so I can compress them.
