rsync documentation for "--server" option?
...? As a result of not finding documentation, I had to experiment to figure out that if you want to run an rsync server from the command line as non-root, you seem to have to *omit* the "--server" option. However, I still have no idea when the "--server" option should be used. System error 66 has occured
...ogged in as about 10 different users... I just wanted a clean system. I deleted/verified all the usual SuSE files to remove the client: /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, /etc/group, /etc/samba/smbpasswd I then recreated the machine account: groupadd machines useradd -g machines -d /dev/null -s /bin/false izzy$ smbpasswd -a -m izzy smbpasswd -a root useradd -s /bin/false -m testuser passwd testuser smbpasswd -a testuser After the XP reload, I was able to join the domain and login just fine. BUT now, when I "net use H: /home" I get this error message: "System error 66 has occured. The net...

isolinux bug?
...n I view the contents of the cd. There doesn't appear to be any name mangling or anything. Is it the length of the name or the dash maybe that causes the problem? I'd run more tests, but I have other problems to work out first. I might be able to run some later if it would help. ...Izzy

SER and NAT
I have a really simple question about a fairly complex problem: I have a Cisco 7960 behind a NAT. I have an Asterisk server behind a different NAT. I have a SER server (with rtpproxy installed) on a public IP adress. I've opened ports with static NAT to * and the Cisco. Without using SER, I can register the phone to *, I can complete calls, I just can't move audio. Reading the

Apparent SNMP remote-root vulnerability.
I just had a remote root break-in on my machine (x86 running Red Hat Linux 5.0 with all the updates except for kernel-2.0.32-3) this morning at 06:03:28 EDT. From what I''ve been able to gather, it appears to have been through snmpd, which I missed when I was weeding out unused daemons. Sorry for the feeble message, but all I know (or at least strongly suspect) is that there''s a
