Domain self join
Hi,
I want to authenticate against Samba 4 using samba and sssd on FreeBSD
using this guide:
http://serverfault.com/questions/599200/how-to-integrate-active-directory-with-freebsd-10-0-using-security-sssd
The problem is, the machine I want to install authentication on is the
domain controller itsself.
So the following commands show the errors:
net ads join createupn=host/macy.ronnyforberger.de at RONNYFORBERGER.DE -k -d1
Host is not configured as a member server.
Invalid configuration. Exiting....
Failed to join domain: This operation is only allowed for the PDC of the
domain.

TxFax -> RxFax on same machine hangs
...nd RxFax, even after half an hour. Then
I stopped using soft hangup, and tried again several times:
Same result.
So, do I have to avoid to fax to myself in any case, because
I risk to produce those never terminating jobs, which probably
consume some resources?
How can I enable asterisk to fax to itsself?
Well, it won't be the normal operation, but when allowing clients
to fax, it can happen by chance, that someone faxes to another
user on the same machine without knowing it.
Thanks for any hints!
Roger.

Problem with number of groups of AD User (token size ?)
...2003 native mode) I have the problem that certain users can't use the shares
(can't logon), while others can.
I *think* this is related to the fact that those users unable to connect are
member of a huge number of groups (100+).
We know from experience that this is a problem in Windows itsself (need to set
MaxTokenSize as discussed here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327825) or with
Apache mod_auth_kerb (need to set LimitRequestFieldSize in Apache).
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any clear indication that this might also
be a problem with Samba/Winbind, let alone find a soluti...

CraigsPalFree problems
Hello Wine Gurus,
I am new to running apps with Wine but have been moderately successful so far. I am trying to work with CraigsPalFree, a nifty app that allows the user to "power-search" craigslist -- sortable results, multiple locations, etc.
The URL is craigspal.com and the download location is http://www.craigspal.com/to_download.php.
Here is what happens (the order varies):

Tektronix 640 Plus Color Printer
...r differrent flavors of HP Lasers and I have the drivers on the
server, everything's great-UNTIL......
We get a Tektronix color printer (Phaser 640 Plus). It's networking
fine, actually prints fine, except only in Black and there is some
bar-code-ish noise in the blank lines. The printer itsself appears to
be fine, I have the latest drivers, and have tried (locally loaded, not
from the server) both the NT and the 95 driver.
Does anyone know what I need to do to get a color printer to work? My
printer-related smb.conf sections follow; I have never set up a color
printer under Linux before...

[LLVMdev] calling member via JIT
hello,
after a lot of tries i could assemble a pretty small version of what either
triggers a bug in LLVM or is caused by misuse of LLVM on my side. i would be
very happy, if someone with more experience with the JIT could have a look on
my code.
the use-case:
a class in a bitcode-file, loaded (jitted) by an app at runtime
the app calls a static create inside the bitcode and then tries to

RE: samba problem
Hi Alexander,
The kind of firewall i have uses the basic iptables which came with the
installation CDs of linux-SuSE.
I installed SuSE 8.1 which has a firewall that has to be activated. But now, u
know, i can't find the file containing the iptables so as to adjust the
rules. When i try "iptables -L" in console mode i can see all the rules.
I think i need to add some new rules

How to fix "CAPI 2.0 not installed"?
Hallo,
I recently installed wine 1.1.2 on my SlackWare 12.1 Linux
system, because I have to run a hardware debugging program
which only runs under Windows.
When I run the application, i get the message "CAPI 2.0 not
installed".
In the same directory as the application there's a file
called capi2032.dll, and I suspect that has something to
do with it.
If so, how do I tell wine that

Exact decode positioning
Hi,
I'm busy working on a method of synchronising playback between two ogg
decoders. To do this reliably, I need to create a cross-reference of the
raw & pcm offsets in the bitstream. I have tried using the ov_raw/pcm_tell
calls, but it appears as if the ov_raw_tell() only updates itsself in steps
of 4096 bytes (as each read callback is done). This gives me a
cross-reference every 120ms or so, which isn't quite often enough for my
application.
Is there anyway of finding the codec's position in the raw stream more
precisely (e.g. whenever a frame is decoded)?

Dovecot "open files" (again?)
...be in rc15, which I'm already running (Via
FreeBSD's ports). I also applied the patch mentioned here awhile back:
and rebuilt, but it didn't help out either. There are also freebsd specific
notes on forcing a limit on dovecot itsself using login.conf, but that
wouldnt really fix anything, it would just cause dovecot to not interfere
with other running daemons.
- http://www.mail-archive.com/ports at openbsd.org/msg08646.html
Any thoughts? TSS, you mention a few times in these notes that you're unable
to reproduce this. Per...

[git patches] Ocfs2 updates for 2.6.30
Hi,
The following patches comprise the bulk of Ocfs2 updates for the
2.6.30 merge window. Aside from larger, more involved fixes, we're adding
the following features, which I will describe in the order their patches are
mailed.
Sunil's exported some more state to our debugfs files, and
consolidated some other aspects of our debugfs infrastructure. This will
further aid us in debugging
