Will wine run itself's windows version under linux?
You might have already talk about this but I didn't find any related post with a quick search, so sorry in advance.. Well, I saw that there is a windows version of wine (although I can not understand why) but nevertheless I immediately wondered: is it possible to run the windows version of wine under linux using wine? has anyone tried it? Regards. fg

Not able to use cdrom-drives
hi all i have problems configuring my cdrom-devices with winecfg. when i try to add it as d: with the mountpoint /media/cdrom0 and select to be a cdrom-device, click apply and restart winecfg it is shown as a disk-device. i also tried with different mountpoints and also the device /dev/hdd itselfs but it always ends in the same problem. Also the autoconfiguration thing does not work. It adds my cdrom-drive correctly with the correct mountpoint and selected it to be a cdrom-device but after restart of winecfg or running any other program that uses cdrom-drives the don't show up. did some...

More Slack7 heartbreak.
...or so: if (dup2(inout[0], 1) < 0) /* stdout. Note: same socket as stdin. */ perror("dup2 stdout") This seems to cause the forked process to segfault, as a result scp doesn't work, nore does using ssh to send a command. What would the fix be for this? PS to damien: OpenSSH itselfs builds fine on the alpha, but I'm having to argue w/ gnome-askpass a little bit, I think it's just that I have to install some newer libraries.(rh 6.0 is old)

Gateway doesn't ring
...the gateway. If i call the same Gateway through a connected second Asterisk the ringing is done well. If a call is coming through the same SIP Provider to another Gateway i.e. "Inalp Patton SmartNode SN4552" all is working fine. Is this a problem on the configuration of the Gateway itselfs or on Asterisk for this gateway? Thanks Hans-Peter Straub

"undefined reference to `yes_storage'"
Well after the 'issues' with Compaq C, I decided to attempt compile using GCC-3.4.3... To put it short, that didn't fair well either. Will L G. Bug#658100: xl: hangs in qemu-dm when trying to run PV domU
...mal Hi, I was doing some experiments today with XL TOOLSTACK, and found few problems when trying to do PV domU boot. I was trying to run kfreebsd9 or linux-3.2 kernel in qemu using PV i386, and with simple configuration without any disks, nics or virtual framebuffer, kernel boots (and then kernel itselfs correctly fails with information that root cannot be mounted). (ignoring spurious information/error "kernel is not a bzImage: Invalid kernel", and another - already reported - bug which was solved by simply 'mkdir /var/lib/xen') movax-dev:/etc/xen# cat kfreebsd9.cfg name = &quot...

ext2 inode size patch - RE: PR kern/124621
...e other than 128. The e2fsprogs' default is now 256, so file systems created on newer Linux distributions or with the port will not be mountable. I was hopeful this would get committed in time for 7.1-RELEASE (and 6.4-RELEASE), however the PR remains open. If there is an issue with the patch itself, I would be glad to fix it. I'm posting to fs@ because hopefully some folks more experienced with file system/kernel code can have a look and see if the patch is ok to commit. I've seen a few people in ##freebsdhelp on Freenode as well as #freebsdhelp on EFnet with this problem, and have h...

status of autotuning freebsd for 9.2
Andre, Are you going to have time to MFC things from -current for auto-tuning -stable before 9.2? I fear (maybe unnecessarily?) that we are about to ship yet another release that can't do basic 10gigE when sufficient memory exists. If you don't have time, then let me know and I'll see what I can do. -- Alfred Perlstein VP Software Engineering, iXsystems

...after having deleted all the samba log files and restarted the SMBd daemon from the SWAT Web interface.
