cvs changes
I changed the libshout2 and thread module apis. This broke everything. If you are tracking CVS, make sure to update your libshout2 and the thread module. Ices2 and Icecast2 already uses these new changes, which were implemented as part of general cleanup and getting Solaris builds out of clean tarballs. If anyone is having build issues now, on linux or solaris, please let me know. jack. ---

RFC: EfficiencySanitizer working set tool
...lines touched on the y axis. The units of time could be selected by the user: cpu time, wall clock time, memory access count, etc. The unit determines the method of snapshot sampling, whether performance counters for the memory access count (or instrumentation to increment a global counter) or an itimer. We can record callstacks with each snapshot as well to help give an indication of what the program is doing at that point in time, to help the user understand the program phases. We expect the time overhead of the tool to be well under the 5x EfficiencySanitizer ceiling; presumably it should b...

Inconsistency in handling of numeric input with %d by sprintf
I initially thought this is "documented behaviour". ?sprintf says: Numeric variables with __exactly integer__ values will be coerced to integer. (emphasis mine). Turns out this only works when the first value is numeric and not NA, as shown by the following example: > sprintf("%d", as.numeric(c(NA,1))) Error in sprintf("%d", as.numeric(c(NA, 1))) : invalid
