The installed ISC DLV key installed with bind-9.8.2-0.68.rc1.el6_10.3.x86_64 seems to have expired and there does not appear to be a new bind-9.8.2 RPM with a new key. I guess you can

BIND 9.4.3-P1: internal_send: 199.7.83.42#53: Device not configured, where 199.7.83.42 is RANDOM IP address
Hello, Freebsd-stable. BIND on my new router (7.1-STABLE, BIND 9.4.3-P1) shows bunch of errors on every start and doesn't answer on requests for 30-60 seconds after that. Errors are like this: Jan 24 12:18:12 gateway named[1455]: /usr/src/lib/bind/isc/../../../contrib/bind9/lib/isc/unix/socket.c:1567: unexpected error: Jan 24 12:18:12 gateway named[1455]: internal_send: 193.0.14.129#53:

Sieve rule issue with certain character sets
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a global sieve rule in place to filter mailing-lists. This has worked well so far. Recently however one subscriber on a list seems to create strange character set encodings in the 'From' and 'To' headers. This leads to unprocessed/unfiltered mails (no errors thrown). Is this a configuration or Pigeonhole issue (latest HG used)?

pfSense DHCP integration with Samba AD DDNS
Hi Rowland, I don't want to to run an AD DC on firewall device, barely DHCP and maybe DNS. What you have pointed me to is similar to what I have in place: https://blog.michael.kuron-germany.de/2011/02/isc-dhcpd-dynamic-dns-updates-against-secure-microsoft-dns/ and which is working fine. NOW I want to switch DHCP from isc-dhcp-server 4.2.2 on Debian to DHCP on pfSense firewall (based on

difficulties in rid mappings in 3.0.25
I use the sernet samba packages on debian sarge and have problems after upgrading to 3.0.25 with rid mappings. My rid configuration for 3.0.24 looks like this idmap backend = rid:ISC=500-100000000 idmap uid = 500-100000000 idmap gid = 500-100000000 after updating to 3.0.25 I get a core dump of winbind (log at the end of the post) with these settings. DHCP server failover: advise is needed
Dear Experts, I was running ISC DHCP server for longer than I would care to remember. Now I decided to climb out of the cave and configure failover set (primary-secondary), and I seem to hit brick wall, which I need help with. I only need IP v4, no v6, which may simplify things. Could someone point to a description of working DHCP failover configuration? I do not want to make two independent

Using isc-dhcp for DDNS with Samba4 internal DNS
Hello, Is it possible to use isc-dhcp for DDNS with Samba internal DNS? I would rather not use bind as I understand you can't use Windows DNS tool to manage. Thanks. -- -James

Fwd: dhclient and CVE-2011-0997...?
Hi-- Are folks familiar with: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2011-0997 http://www.isc.org/software/dhcp/advisories/cve-2011-0997 http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2011/04/07/flaw-in-iscs-dhclient-could-allow-remote-code-execution/ Checking http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sbin/dhclient/dhclient.c, I don't see signs that it may have been updated. But, I also can't readily tell which version of dhclient FreeBSD actually has and how much it might have been changed f...

DNS (Bind )update via external DHCP ISC
Hi I have Samba4 AD ( V4.8 )environment with Bind 9 on the same serverĀ  and want to have DNS updated from the DHCP ISC server( External) . As we see the the host records and reverse records do not get updated dynamically on the Bind / DNS . Is it not the functionality to have DNS updated as soon as clients log in . If not , then probably we have to follow

BIND 8 is EOL as of 27 August 2008 (fwd)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: RIPEMD160 For all those currently using BIND 8, please be aware of the notice below from ISC. Given that we have moved to BIND 9 for all of our releases from 5.x on (and BIND 9.4.x in 7-soon-to-be-release), and given that FreeBSD 4 was the last branch to have BIND 8, and itself is now EOL, the time has come to say good-bye to BIND 8. Separate ISC-DHCP server updating BIND DNS
I am attempting to set up a separate ISC-DHCP server to administer IP addresses for a new subnet and dynamically update the main BIND9 DNS server on DC1. I'm using the guide linked below but it appears to be for installing the DHCP server directly on the domain controller. Is there any documentation available for updating BIND9 from a completely separate machine with ISC-DHCP installed? It

Passing option-209 to PXE client w/ ISC DHCPD V2
Does anyone remember if there is a way to coerce the ISC DHCPD version 2 (2.0pl5) to send options to a PXE client that does not explicitly request them. I can do this in version 3 of DHCPD via the vendor-option-space mechanism, but this is not available in version 2 of the server (the version my network switch uses). I want to be able to specify the PXE filename via option 209 (plus option 208

Is the ISC license acceptable for CRAN?
Good afternoon. The ISC (Internet Software Consortium) license[1] is a permissive, open-source license that is considered "functionally equivalent"[2] to the Simplified (2-clause) BSD[3] and MIT[4] licenses, but with extraneous language removed. There is at least one package on CRAN which incorporates some code using it[5]. Are there plans to include this license in the list at
