Irrc the default on AIX. is iso-18559-15 (hope i have all the numbers right. In any case not utf-8.
AIX 7.2 may be different. In any case on AIX 6.1 the test logic automatically sets utf8 test to no.

Bug#589176: xen-utils-common: replace gawk with awk in scripts and Depends
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
I am not a gawk/mawk expert, but I looked carefully at the few uses of
gawk that I saw in /etc/xen/scripts/vtpm-common.sh and network-bridge,
and I did not see anything that was gawk-specific. It would be nice if
they could be changed to awk and the dependency on gawk removed.

[Bug 25966] New: nv25 : rxvt scrolling is very slow
...g
Hi,
using rxvt 2.7.10 (from debian sid) has some issue with nouveau :
- opening a new terminal,
- filling it with data (dmesg for example),
- and then scrolling with the mouse is :
- slow (we can see a latency)
- Xorg eat 100% of cpu
There no such problem with nvidia blob (and nv driver IRRC).
Oprofile give me :
62336 51.8948 libpixman-1.so.0.16.4
22927 19.0867 libfb.so
16548 13.7762 no-vmlinux
6297 5.2423 Xorg
unfortunately I don't have debug symbol.
May be it is related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=538467 ?
