Is this sufficient to access and control port 'com1' ... because if I lack permissions ... then even if there is a link from dosdevices com1 to /dev/ttyS0 ...wine will not be able to access com1. IF wine has the comport setup correct. Still looking to control my rig through my ONLY com port. ...ere is a symlink in place ... from Com1 in /dosdevices ... to /dev/ttyS0. My conclusions are that the port is owned by root but that user 'richard" should be able to access the port ... and that no other program appears to have hijacked the port. Any more ideas please??
