Mapped drives gets disconnected ?
Hi!
I'm running a RedHat 7.2 server with Samba 2.2.3a - but recently I have a
problem that mapped drives on Windows 2000 workstations get disconnected and
have problems reconnecting (error message is something like "local device
name already in use" when I try to browse the drive in Windows Explorer).
Any idea what causes this problem ?

Problem with routing
Hi All
I have the following setup
Users ------- Machine A ----------- Machine B ----------- Machine C
>From machine A to B:
Ipsec VPN
Allows 192.168.10.0/24 (Users) to connect to 192.168.20.0/24 (Network on
machine B)
>From machine B to C:
Ipsen VPN
Allows 196.44.33.118 to coccent to 192.168.241.65 (machine C)
I want to rewrite 192.168.20.33 to 192.168.241.65
This can be done with the following rule on Machine B:
DNAT:info net:192.168.10.0/24 net:192.168.241.65 all -
- 192.168.20.33
But for that packets to go t...

Howto Samba and Win2K?
I've got a home network with using win2k pro. Do I need to set Samba up as
a pdc for the w2k machines to connect? Currently I've got my w2k machines
set up as a workgroup and simply set up Samba as a member of that workgroup.
My problem is that I cannot connect to it. I see my samba box in my network
neighborhood, however, I cannot browse it. I'm running Samba 2.2.2 that

WIN95 OSR2.1 problem solved
...ncrypted passwords, you have to change
the registry as with NT. However it is a different key to change :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VNETSUP
Add a new DWORD value named EnablePlainTextPassword and give it a value
of 1. That's it.

Mappoing from Samba client to \\server\share\dir ?
Hi!
How do I create a mountpoint with smbmount, that attaches to
\\server\share\dir (on a Windows 2000 server) ?? If I mount to
\\server\share I'm not able to see anything - but the mapping to the same
server (from a Win2000 client) is okay, and I can see the contents of the
directory... Trying to map to //server/share/dir gives me an error:
