Controlling outbound bandwidth utilization by port
...The content includes several large image
galleries, and when certain crawlers hit our server w/
multiple large image uploads, we end up with large
ping time delays - sufficient to disrupt the kids''
on-line gaming. Attempts to control this with robots.txt
has not be very successful; Solaris IPQoS appears quite complex
to set up and the modem''s IPQoS features just crash
the modem when configured.
How can I use crossbow to limit the _outbound_ bandwidth
utilization of port 80-sourced traffic? Do I need to place
the Apache server in a zone?
Thanks -

Sorry, should be separated by whitespace: "IPQoS lowdelay throughput".
(This restores the pre-7.8 setting).

With reference to http://bugs.debian.org/650512, which I just reopened,
I am sorry to say that the bug persists in OpenSSH 6.0.

Do you have any insight into what is breaking here? I don't believe
changing the default DSCP values should break connections...

IPQoS
Real networks use either PREC (as it maps 1:1 to 802.1p and MPLS TC) or DSCP.
Interactive SSH uses PREC 0x0, which is just best-effort and DSCP 0x4 which
has no standard meaning (found network where DSCP 0x4 was dropped, completely,
as it didn't hit any defined/allowed QoS class, obviously misconfig, BE class
should eat anything not already defined)
Should interactive use TOS value which has

Added the line as above: 'IPQoS lowdelay throughput', restarted the SSH service, tried SSH-ing and Git-ing... same error as before: 'packet_write_wait: Connection to X.X.X.X port 22: Broken pipe'.

sshd 7.8p1 close connection from VMware Fusion NAT Port Forwarding
After upgrading my VMware Fusion (10.1.3) Arch Guest to the latest with
OpenSSH upgraded from 7.7p1 to 7.8p1, found that ssh from macOS Sierra
(10.12.6) host to Arch guest via local NAT port forwarding failed, but via
Arch LAN IP worked, downgraded OpenSSH from 7.8p1 to 7.7p1 fixed the
problem.
Any idea about this bug?

...ance via their "Launch instance..." wizard).
This is deeply weird, especially the lack of further output from the
server. A couple more questions:
Does this only happen with Amazon as the destination?
Is there anything in dmesg indicating a sandbox violation?
Could you try turning off IPQoS setting (ssh -oIPQoS=none ...) and seeing
whether that makes any difference?
Was it working with OpenSSH 7.9? If none of the above yield any clues,
then could I ask you to try and git bisect the last good version and
git HEAD to see where it broke.
Thanks again for your patience,

OpenSSH Hangs After Successful Authentication
Greetings...
** Short Description / Abstract **
Using my _internal_ WiFi card, OpenSSH succeeds to local (internal) LAN
hosts, but hangs after authentication to external LAN hosts; however
PuTTY works for all hosts.
Using an _external_ WiFi card, OpenSSH does succeed to all LAN hosts (as
did PuTTY, still, as well).

OpenSSH 7.8p1 drops SSH connection with "Broken Pipe" IMMEDIATELY after successful login
The virtualization is VMware Workstation 12.x, NOT Fusion.
Again, I'd like to point that downgrading to 7.7p2 "solved" the issue and that I'm using the same virtualization software for ages (which makes me disbelieve the issue lies with it).
I've seen the comment about zero-length passwords... I'm not techie enough to understand the code there (or the technical
