1024GB max memory on R for Windows XP?
I have 2GB installed on my windows XP box running R 1.9.0, and after performing a prune.tree(intree, newdata), I get an out of memory error within R, but it says the maximum allowed is 1024gb (1/2 of what I have!) Can R not use more than 1GB on an XP box? I noticed I had ~600mb left over after R conked out, so clearly I had more memory... What about virtual memory? --j -- Jonathan Greenberg

[RFC] Lanai backend
You've raised an important point here Pete, and while I disagree pretty strongly with it (regardless of whether Lanai makes sense or not), I'm glad that you've surfaced it where we can clearly look at the issue. The idea of "it really should have users outside of just the people who have access to the HW" I think is deeply problematic for the project as a whole. Where does

Networking issues in host
I've been having intermittent network issues on my Host - they go away when I stop and disable libvirtd and then reboot. They do not go away if I just stop libvirtd and don't reboot. I'm at a loss as to where to start with my troubleshooting, and being a relative n00b to libvirt, I'd love any pointers. Regards, Richard

[RFC] Lanai backend
Hi all, We would like to contribute a new backend for the Lanai processor (derived from the processor described in [1]). Lanai is a simple in-order 32-bit processor with: * 32 32-bit registers, including: * 2 registers with fixed values; * 4 used for program state tracking (PC, SP, FP, RCA); * 2 reserved for explicit usage by user (R10 and R11), used in threading library; * Up

Building Xen: failure to launch
Hi everyone. I''m a Xen newbie and I''m trying to get oriented here in the xeniverse. (Can I say that here?) My eventual goal is to set up multiple virtual xen servers in a minimum number of physical "boxes". My only knowledge of Xen so far is my careful reading of the famous paper "Xen - the Art of Virtualization". So I went to the web and searched Xen

Re: Networking issues in host
I realize this falls under the category of "so incredibly vague I should maybe not send it", so I have low expectations and apologize beforehand if it's just pure noise. That being said - it appears that the whole HOST system becomes laggy. It can effect the mouse, the keyboard, the network. There are no messages in the logs that I can find that indicate the system is blocked or

Building Xen from source
I''m a Xen newbie, still trying to get oriented. I''m especially interested in building from sources, and I''m looking for some clarifications. Does anyone here build from sources, or should I perhaps subscribe to the developer''s list? At the moment, I''m mainly interested in just being a Xen user because I need to get up to speed here before even

3.8p1 on Solaris 8
Hello, I am running into some strange (to me) behavior trying to upgrade from 3.6.1p2 to 3.8p1 on Solaris 8. All of my machines are running 3.6.1p2 (Linux boxes have had RH errata applied). When I ssh with my AFS account name from any of them to the Solaris 8 box running 3.6.1p2, it responds with "afsuser at machine's password:". Once the password is given, I am logged in just

[PATCH 0/2] Fix SMBios table regressions in HVM guests
The series "HVM firmware passthrough" series in Jan 2013 from Ross Philipson cause two regressions for HVM guests which sadly found their way into the Xen 4.3 release. The first regression causes an incorrect count of tables to be placed in the main header, and can be seen by running dmidecode in any applicable HVM domain. The second regression found its way into the public ABI, making
