libpthread and icecast2
...sr/lib/libc.so.4: warning: tempnam() possibly used unsafely; consider using mkstemp() I considering this a bug in FreeBSD. To my knowledge icecast uses none of these functions directly. Nor really anything resembling them. I'm not sure how to get rid of them :) If you find a way, I will be intereted to know how, since these are annoying and succeed in nothing more than scaring everyone. I suppose that something I'm linking uses these, but that basically comes down to libxml or vorbis. Vorbis doesn't uses these functions, so I have no idea. I think that the reentrant c library or s...

Antispam plugin + scriptsieve
Hi, I wrote a little python program that works with antispam plugin, to create or remove sieve rules based on "From:" of any e-mail that is moved to some folder configured in dovecot.conf. He works fine with "Felamimail" the email program of "eGroupware". After setup, is very simple: If an user move a message to "blocked" folder, is appended a rule in

PXEboot works but running into a wall at "login"
This is slightly off topic since I am all the way upto the login prompt, but I appeal to you all because you probably have experience in this: I am passing a diskless workstation a compressed root filesystem that is copied from a server (chopped down). I am only intereted in text consoles being available on the client (runlevel 3). The diskless workstation goes well up to the login: RedHat Linux release 9 (Shrike) Kernel 2.4.20-8 on and i686 (none) login: When I log in as root I get the following error: Login incorrect There is no "password" prompt...

Log level and debug classes
Hi, I quote from the smb.conf man page: ------------------------------------ log level (G) The value of the parameter (a astring) allows the debug level (logging level) to be specified in the smb.conf file. This parameter has been extended since the 2.2.x series, now it allow to specify the debug level for multiple debug classes. [...] Example: log level = 3 passdb:5 auth:10 winbind:2

NHW Project - Is there interested people?
...re) then this could be very interesting for such embedded products. So again, as I think it will be soon pointless to work on NHW image compression whereas 2 new standards will be adopted on the Internet, I wanted to let you know that it would be great to find someone/company/organization that are intereted in NHW and would like to take over the project and continue its research and development notably for some video codec use cases. So I would like to start to take contact as I am progressively stopping my work on NHW, if you think you could and want to work on and take over the NHW Project, or wo...

How to deal with voice SMS - Asterisk 1.4
Hi list, I face a problem with voice SMSs. In some countries, if you send an SMS to a landline number, the mobile operator will record the message and then call this number. When picking up the phone you hear "You get an SMS from <phone number>, press 1 to listen the message, 2 to repeat the sender phone number". If you press 1 you hear the message and after it you have the

[LLVMdev] Preferring to use GCC instead of LLVM
...rised that unprofessional behavior is tolerated here. If I was in charge, I would kick off anyone who repeatedly acts unprofessionally, because tolerating them tends to cause the community to degrade more and more over time as professionals are driven away. Professionals become less and less intereted in participating because they get sick of rubbing shoulders with unprofessional/insecure/immature people.
