The *only* vendor that dropped Samba over GPLv3
was Apple, who have religious objections to *any*

containing it. As is their right of course.
I'm not letting these slimy insinuations go

The problem is that then the same people then start complaining
about my "oversimplification." In fact, that's part of the problem here.
I really _tried_ to make a recommendation without breaking down into

Remove a materially failed device from a Btrfs "single-raid" using partitions
Hello,
I am on Ubuntu Server 13.04 with Linux 3.8.
I''ve created a "single-raid" using /dev/sd{a,b,c,d}{1,3}. One of my hard
drives has failed, I mean it''s materially dead.

multi-server rails deployment
I''m building an app in rails that will be deployed on 3 different
servers but am not sure the best way to deploy it. The app is
something like Google Adwords (an online advertising program,
essentially).
ServerA is the Administration server
ServerB is the Ad server (feeds ad requests to affiliates)
ServerC is the Click server (handles incoming clicks from our affiliate sites)

blktap2 and qcow2 images
Hi There,
I''ve been trying to get this to work for the last couple of days, but found
no information on the internet that would help. Essentially, a tap-ctl
opencommand with a qcow2 image does not work (error code 2) and
produces the
following line in syslog:
tap-ctl: tap-err:tap_ctl_open: open failed, err -2
I have attached a shell script that reproduces the problem on my machine.

Please allow me to emphasize it again, for clarity, avoiding the
reiterated confusion to some readers / users. We are talking about:
* ISO images,
* burnt to _optical media_,
* and using then the resulting _optical media_ to boot in _UEFI mode_,
* in which the _main

People, PLEASE do not engage Reindl on the list, it always results in
this kind of garbage that the adults on the list could do without.
If you feel compelled to 'call him out', then by all means do so, but do
it PRIVATELY.
Thanks.

Tutorial Introduction to R
I have placed my ~100 page document:
Data Analysis and Graphics Using R - An Introduction
at http://www.maths.anu.edu.au/~johnm/r-notes/r-notes.pdf
The best way to access and print it is with Adobe Acroread
Reader. I am making it available "for personal study and
classroom use".
It is a pdf version of a Word 95 file. A code that prints as ??,

Can agents login be permanent across Asterisk restarts ?
Hi,
I noticed that agents logins (agentcallbacklogin) are reset if Asterisk is
restarted. Can this be avoided in some way ?

chanspy does not pull the call back to asterisk after a reinvite
Hello all,
I am allowing a reinvite between a snom 320 phone and a SIP gateway to take load off my Asterisk server. When I put the caller on hold, for example, Asterisk successfully reinserts itself into the rtp stream to play music on hold to the caller, but when I do a chanspy Asterisk does not seem to pull the call back. If I am spying on a channel when the call build up happens the reinvite

Viruses bouncing around on this list
I''m sure many are aware of this already but I thought I would insinuate
myself for a moment here.
Our mail servers have blocked two posts to this list today, due to them
containing inappropriate file attachments - one with an .SCR file, and one
with a .PIF file.
Yeah, my servers blocked them, no harm done. But I doubt everyone
subscribing to this list is running a setup that blocks
