Losing registration - ast 1.4.39 and innomedia 6328-2Re
All,
I'm having a problem with an Innomedia 6328-2Re (old Sunrocket Gizmo).
It keeps losing registration after a period of time ranging from a few
minutes to a few hours. It seems that right before it loses
registration, it fails to send a second register (after the 401
unauthorized). Here's a transcript from wireshark (at the end...

innomedia ATA's
We are testing the innomedia ATA's to possibly replace our current line up
of ATA's that we are using. Has anyone used their product? What is their
track record on stability, voice quality, DTMF talkoff, T.38
Thanks
Bryant

Video phone failed on Asterisk-1.2.4
Dear sir,
I got trouble on InnoMedia video phone with Asterisk-1.2.4.

looking for a better ATA
I currently us Linksys/Ciscio, Grandstream and AudioCodes ata's. none of
the three perform well in all enviroments. Between stablity issues, T38 and
DTMF talkoff all three suffer some combination of issues.
I am looking at Patton and Innomedia. Has any one tried either brand and
what is your experience with them. Which would be the base for stability,
audio quality, provisioning, DTMF talkoff and T38
Any advise before I start testing with these brands would be apperciated.
Any better option you may know of.
Thanks for any input

times difference causes write
Using rsync-2.4.6:
Is a times difference supposed to cause a write?
Also -t vs -I makes no difference.
Below shows the problem, I think:

[dmahurin@pc16 /tmp]$ cp /bin/ls x
[dmahurin@pc16 /tmp]$ ls -l x/ls
-rwxr-xr-x 1 dmahurin users 43024 Nov 13 12:46 x/ls

Sudden appearance of SIP/2.0 401 Unauthorized
...IP. We updated DNS and
various adapters configured to register to that server registered to the
new IP correctly. All seemed to be well.
This evening I discovered that with one exception, all of the adapters
are getting a SIP/2.0 401 Unauthorized message back from asterisk. The
exception is an Innomedia adapter -- Linksys PAP2's and (I believe) one
Cisco ATA-188 are getting the "Unauthorized".
I have stopped, restarted, unloaded & loaded sip, and erased astdb to
start from scratch... no dice. None of the config files have changed,
and, as I said, they all appeared to work las...

direct write patch
I have attached a patch that supports a new "--direct-write" option.
The result of using this option is to write directly to the destination
files, instead of a temporary file first.
The reason this patch is needed is for rsyncing to a device where the
device is full or nearly full.
Say that I am writing to a device that has 1 Meg free, and a 2 meg file
on that device is out of date.

How does Vonage support fax machines?
My boss is insisting we support fax, and I keep telling him that Fax over
IP is very unreliable and not recommended and his immediate come-back is
"Vonage does it." and it's very hard to figure out how.
I don't think Vonage does T.38, the Linksys/Sipura units they're using
doesn't support T.38 to my knowledge.
That means they have to be using G.711Ulaw to send faxes.

patch - forceshell
Attached is a simple patch which allows an auth param 'shell=' like
'command='
When specified, sshd will use this shell instead of the one in
/etc/passwd or the default shell.
This patch allows you can have some chrooted shell (actually any shell)
associated with a specific key.
You could do this with command=, but then the command given to ssh will
be ignored, and scp will not
