Looking for inexpensive phone to use with Asterisk with message light and a button that will let me play new messages
I'm wanting to have a phone at home next to the garage door that when my bride comes home, she can see that there is a new message, push a button and have the messages played to her. Otherwise, she will not let me install asterisk on my home line. Can someone suggest relatively inexpensive hardware that will do this for me (us)? Thanks, -Peter

4+ Port FXS Analog Device
I'm looking for an inexpensive way to connect 20 analog phones to asterisk. I could get a bunch of Linksys or Sipura boxes but was wondering if there is a more cost effective way? I came across the Mediatrix 1104 and even the Mediatrix 1124 but that comes out to be almost $100/port. I might as well buy inexpensive IP pho...

Need tip on an inexpensive printer for college student using CentOS 5.5
...en he had to print a paper/briefing, his work-around was to build the paper/briefing in OO, save in Office 2003 format on a USB drive, boot to Win7, load in MS Office and print to the Cannon printer. I'm looking to clean that mess up for him before sending him back to school. Looking to buy an inexpensive printer he can use on both sides of this laptop. Any suggestions? Dave M

Found: inexpensive ADSI phone
I know I heard people looking for inexpensive ADSI phones a while back. Can't vouch for these guys, but this looks like a reasonable deal for what perhaps are new phones. No experience with ADSI, myself, but thought I'd pass it along. These folks also carry the Nortel analog units that do intercom and 2-line, as has been discus...

inexpensive ways to make a rails application highly available? mysql replication?
I''m interested in making a low volume rails application very available. This means that I would like to have an alternate server for those times when the primary server is unavailable for whatever reason. Virtual private servers are fairly inexpensive so one could have a rails application on 2 different vps systems (not on the same server, possibly not even in the same city). I''ve read a little about mysql replication. Is there any service that allows rapid fail over from one host to another? If so, how do you configure replication suc...

Software to test a LAN for possible VoIP Install
Aloha, Does anyone know of any opensource or inexpensive software that can test a network for a possible VoIP installation? I have seen Chariot by NetIQ, but it is very costly! I am envisioning two or three "client" devices that talk to a server device. Each client could simulate 1-100 VoIP phone calls. The server module would monitor the QO...

Door Contacts via Asterisk?
Hi all, I have had (what I consider) an odd request. The installation I'm working on now is an office on a multi-floor building. They 're looking for some kind of solution with the phone system to provide door control. We are a non-profit so of course I'm looking for something VERY inexpensive. I'm sure /someone/ has done something like this. I'd appreciate any ideas. Cassius Smith -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Small inexpensive SBC for Speex? How about the TIC5505
Hi David, If cost is an issue then, yes you can do all that (the speex at least) with the eZDSP USB stick. Only limitation is a slow emulator that is integrated with USB, and so there is no JTAG output to use with other emulators. If you don't have an emulator anyway then this is an advantage. Request for suggesstions -- inexpensive 10Gbps NAS / 300TB JBOD with centos head
Greetings, I am located in India. Any experience or suggestions for building blocks using copper preferably (and not fiber SAN)? Enclosures, Technologies (iscsi etc). Many US companies are very picky about export regulations for such humongous data appetites. The application is mainly A/V or vfx file handling. -- Regards, Rajagopal

Your RoR 1.1 Adoption Prediction?
What is the likelyhood that major inexpensive webhosts like godaddy, bluehost, etc. will upgrade to RoR 1.1?
