Shorewall 4.4.6 and Multiple ISP with 2 routed subnets
Hello, I have 2 ISP uplinks (zones: inet1 and inet2), each with a fixed IP on the outside and a routed subnet (/25 and /26) on the inside. So, behind the firewall i have 2 networksegments (lan1 and lan2) with public IP-addresses. The segments are completely isolated from eachother: hosts in zone "lan1" connect only to "inet1...

NetworkManager on servers
...> factorial number of solutions. (4 sysadmins, 4 developers, 4 managers etc.. > at 5 you end up with 120 different solutions for some reason.) As much as I love CentOS (been using it since 4.x), some days I just miss the bone-headed approach of Slackware and FreeBSD. Just edit /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf or /etc/rc.conf and you're done. :o) -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'?glise - 30730 Montpezat Site : https://www.microlinux.fr Mail : info at microlinux.fr T?l. : 04 66 63 10 32 Mob. : 06 51 80 12 12

Network configuration: desktop vs. laptop
...mple: # /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp2s0 DEVICE=enp2s0 TYPE=Ethernet ONBOOT=yes BOOTPROTO=dhcp Now I wonder how I should configure things on a laptop, where I usually keep NetworkManager. On a Slackware system, it's usually just a matter of leaving a pristine /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf file, and then activate /etc/rc.d/rc.networkmanager. Starting from there, when there's a wireless connection available, I can connect using the little NetworkManager applet on the desktop. And when I switch to cable, NetworkManager will prefer that connection automagically. On a default i...

The script below generates an error: # Device eth0 tc qdisc add dev eth0 ingress beginner.tc:2: don''t know how to build meter for this The script is below, I changed the real IP numbers for XXs and YYs, since it doesn''t really matter what they are. eth0 is the

ICMP Error
I just installed pre 9 of kernel 2.2.0. I am now getting echoed to the screen of whatever virtual terminal I am in the following message: 172.16.81.99 sent an invalid ICMP error to a broadcast This is repeated for a number of IP addresses. Obviously, the problem is two fold. Firstly I need to find out what the problem is with the servers. However, I find it somewhat annoying to having this

Xen 4.1.0, multiple network interfaces, network-bridge failing to create multiple bridges
Hi *, having built Xen 4.1.0 and running my Dom0 on Slackware 13.1, I''m trying to assign different physical network interfaces to different DomU guests: vif = [ ''bridge=ethX'' ] in the DomU configuration files. My /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge script, however, doesn''t create more than one bridge: root@cen:~# /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge start
