Traffic Shaping over Satellite Internet
I''ve set up Traffic Shaping on a Linux Router.
Using HTB with SFQ, i''m trying to slow down
heavy downloading for 20 subscribers over
a 2048 kbit downlink. I''m classifying internet related
traffic using iptables marking.
bri0 is my local lan bridge, receiving egress traffic destined for subscribers.

[LLVMdev] Cambridge LLVM Social this week
...he Cambridge version will also be this
week, on Wednesday (26th Sep., 7:30pm) at the Cambridge Blue:
http://www.the-cambridgeblue.co.uk/blueroadmap.html
I hope we can get the same attendance as last time, since it won't
stop raining until February. I'll try to arrive earlier and get a big
indoor table.
If you haven't done so yet, you can subscribe to our calendar to know
when the next one will be:

I'm surprised you didn't find anything about this on Google - you did
try Google didn't you?

OK. I know I said before it was basically impossible - but I hadn't
googled for it then. It just goes to show that asking CentOS admins
about cutting edge WiFi issues is not going to get you very far.

gps tags in vorbis comments
hi,
is there an official or semiofficial way to store gps location in vorbis
comments or any ogg file. mp4 and exif store at least:
- location name (e.g. London, UK)
- longitude (degree as double), latitude (degree as double), elevation
(meters) (these three according to WGS84)

[charlescurley@charlescurley.com: Re: Wine tools problems?]
...PS?
Turns out I could if I wished to. All you have to do is get the proper
symlink for your serial device
(http://www.winehq.org/site/docs/wine-user/config-drive-main#CONFIG-DRIVE-SECTIONS,
sec. 5.5.4).
Use the SA8 initialisation code defaults (GPS-> Initialize), and away
you go. My machine is indoors, so the receiver won't get a
fix. However, if you look at the raw data, you should see raw data
from the GPS going by.

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS / Asterisk / apt-get upgrade / exclude packages
Hi,
I have Asterisk 11 with DAHDI (Sangoma E1-Card) running on Ubuntu 12.04
LTS. Asterisk and DAHDI-Drivers are installed from source.
When doing an "apt-get upgrade" the system packages will be update but
sometimes Asterisk is broken. Which packages do I have to exclude when I
do not have time to recompile Asterisk/Dahdi each time? libc?
Kernel-Packages?
Thanks so far!

The use of Samba
Now that I have Samba all set up and working well with all the machines I have
- some linux, some Win98, some WinXP , what more can I do with Samba than
just allow access to each of these machines.
Right now I can sit at any machine and access any others. I can move files
around I can play music files from any machine and I can print on any Printer
that is in the network.
What more can I

I have created a mirror of the fxruby-users mailing list in Google

System Time Source
One of our STEM interns recently observed that there are
inexpensive clocks that sync via radio to standard time
services.? This begged a question about why every computer
would not have a radio module to receive time.? Our senior
staff did not have a good answer or if time from such a
radio module would be supported by the operating system.
When I was a student, such questions would have earned

GPS-enabled cell phone/PDA
I would like to capture the lat/lon coordinates from a GPS-enabled cell
phone or PDA. Is this possible? Must I subscribe to this information
from the cellphone network provider, or can I capture it without charge?
What devices will broadcast the coordinates? Is there a device that
will broadcast its position inband that can be captured by Asterisk?
Can an SMS message include coordinates?

to support Digium. Let's discuss this and find a solution! I am
sure that with a community as large and vibrating as Asterisk.org,
we will find a way to solve this before the spring. We have a long,
dark winter with plenty of time to sit indoors and think. At least
here in Sweden :-)
