Valid users directive
Hi Everyone
I'm new to samba and I have been trying in vein to find a solution to
this problem. I am setting up a linux samba server as a domain member
server. It is part of the MAINT workgroup. Winbind and Samba
authenticate correctly. The issue arises when I try to limit the users
who are allowed to use a my share folder.
Most of the information I have lookup seem to say that I should

Sip to Sip
I appologize if this was already answered somwhere on http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk, I'm sure it probably is. And if you wish to just point me to a link that would be appreciated. I am very new to asterisk and unix all around, so these questions may sound rather ignorant.
First being, how do I setup asterisk to point to another asterisk server and make all the lines which should

Issues with live KVM migration
Hello,
I have been trying to livemigrate one of our KVM machines that has a
local storage device, but it's failing. With error: error: internal
error: unable to execute QEMU command 'migrate': this feature or
command is not currently supported .
After a bit of indepths look. I found out that local disk migration is
not enabled with qemu-kvm-ev package.
I have also tried to save a bit on downtime by creating a disk
snapshot and just copy it over to new node, but live disk snapshots
are also disabled.

RE: Zaptel X100P Kernel Panic
How do I do this? Ive looked on lunix pages but ive seen that I have to
change the config of the kernel build, is that right? Or do I need a
different kernel altogether? Also the sites say the 8K is about as large as
you should take the stack :oS
Also someone posted that I need to sort out the IRQs, is this part of linux?
As you can guess I'm kinda new to linux, although ive used it for 2yrs

New Beta IAX Statistics Program
Hot off the wire:
http://www.sineapps.com/news.php?rssid=927
Hi, we have put together a small application for Windows to allow you to
check IAX network statistics.
Basically all you need is the .Net framework and the
user/pass/host/extension/context details.
There is one parameter available when you start. This is dial string. It
is made up as follows:
user:pass@host/extension@context

OpenSSH 2.9p2 / SSH3 vulnerability?
I have a few questions:
1) Is OpenSSH 2.9p2 (or any other version of OpenSSH) vulnerable to the same problem as SSH3.0.0?
(described here:
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/737451 )
2) There is a "SECURID" patch in the contrib section since 2.5.2p2. I am using it, but applying this
patch to each new version is growing more difficult as time goes on. Would you consider merging this

[LLVMdev] [Cygwin] llvm 'make install' build errors
Aaron,
That looks to me like the "install" program on your platform isn't quite
up to snuff. It should be doing a command like:
/usr/bin/install -c -m 0755 \
/proj/llvm/build/Debug/bin/llvm-ranlib /proj/install/bin/llvm-ranlib
Its not supposed to create an llvm-ranlib directory, the second argument
is the name of the file to create. This works fine on linux.
Can you "make

Dial using URI(web) or using FORM(web)
Hello!
I have an Asterisk@home instalation with 7 users working OK, and I'ld like
to implement either a
-- Web dial feature, where the user would fill one form field with a phone
number and a connection would be created between his extention and the
entered number.
OR
-- Dial using an URI (callto:xxxxx link in a web page), having AstTapi
installed and configured in all workstations.

Dovecot & LDAP Take #2: Authentication failed and logging
Hi there,
after banging my head against a wall for a bit I got more indepth with
dovecot and am now much more knowledgeable about the system than before.
But I still have two problems:
1.) For some reason my dovecot doesnt log correctly. I put debug_log to -1
and expected to see logs flooding in in my syslog. When I try to log in via
telnet over imap and the login succeeds it loggs correctly.

Regarding an "earlier" variant of `pre-xfer exec` [feature request and proposed patch]
(I think the subject is quite descriptive; however for use-cases and
details see bellow after the mention of the old conversation and the
patch.)
Searching the mailing list about this topic yields an old conversation
about this from 2008:

GPL as the main reason why Xapian might not get the widespread success it deserves?
Hi,
I realise that the GPL license question has been discussed in 2003 and
in 2007, extensively. Back then, the conclusion seem to have been that
in-process usage is not possible for most use-cases and that instead, a
network layer/IPC mechanism is required to use Xapian with any non-GPL
software.
I think the project is severely undermining its own potential success. I
see that there are even

A question related with symbol reference?
hi, my friends:
recently, i am reading the source codes about hypercall.
First, i study a simple hypercall, for example, the "do_xen_version".
In "xen-3.1.0-src\xen\common\kernel.c", the definition of "do_xen_version" is:
DO(xen_version) (int cmd, XEN_GUEST_HANDLE(void) arg)
{
....
}
according to the " #define DO(fn) long do_##fn ", the expanded form is

Features you'd like to see in a GUI?
Sherwood,
Your intentions are noble and your desire to build this, fullfills an
immediate need for business.
If your intention is just to build a GUI for Asterisk, read no further.
If your desire is to build something more purposeful, your best bet
would be to see the existing commercial GUI/HostedPBX offerings like

TBOOT and extlinux
Hi,
I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem using the combination of tboot (http://tboot.sf.net, trusted boot kernel for Intel TXT) and extlinux.
TBOOT loads using the multiboot protocol, where the tboot "kernel" is loaded as the kernel, and the actual linux kernel and initrd are specified as modules. A working grub configuration looks something like:
