What are the various models of DID providers
Hi,
Inspired by a recent rant about one particular provider, I am getting
very curious about something I've never mastered. I'd like someone to
explain this here or at least post a link or two that can educate me
and probably countless others who have no knowledge in this area. I'm
sure there are several of you reading this that know all about the
subject.

can't connect to home share after renaming Windows user
I just went through the ordeal of renaming a Windows user account (from
the previous incumbent's name to the position title, so I won't have to
repeat this). Everything went smoothly. The account has access to the
programs and files that it previously did. The roaming profile is being
updated when the user logs out. The C:\user\president folder is
accessing and storing the local...

- Make any changes to definitions, bibliography and other metadata in the book.

The incumbent will need an intermediate level of R and a beginner/intermediate level of LaTeX.
The length of the consultancy is initially six months but could be extended with satisfactory performance.
Please send CV, some sample code, and a description of prior use of R and LaTeX to Amy Heyman, Disseminatio...

Nat Traversal help!
Hello All,
I have a number of X-Lite users in countries where the incumbent Telco will
do anything to block VOIP traffic.
For some reason neither the X-Lite broadband or dialup clients would
register with my server unless we configure them to use the Xten Xtunnels
demo server. Once the Client has registered the call quality is great! The
problem is the Xtunnels does no...

Question about nut-dependencies
...imes there are ./configure options that need to be removed as well, but usually the BuildConflicts will prevent the library from being visible to the configuration process.
Similarly, low-level USB support on MacOS has been withering away for some time now. It is especially difficult to detach the incumbent USB HID PDC driver, to the point that I wrote a separate NUT driver (macosx-ups <https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/macosx-ups.html>) to read from the system power monitoring code. libusb doesn't have a ton of dependencies, but it too is a candidate for the chopping block, especially if...

[LLVMdev] Poll Results: Do you prefer Git or SVN for LLVM development?
...as wide support and that SVN's support is still significant. At
noon PST on Monday morning, we are at 70 supporting Git-only, 12
supporting SVN-only, and 12 supporting both. Or Git-only vs the rest
at 70-to-24, roughly 3-to-1. I think this suggests either that the
community is abandoning the incumbent VCS, or that there are a number
of private forks with a vested interested in switching to a DVCS.
What I find most interesting is that Git support is so high despite
the GettingStarted page encouraging the use of SVN and referring to
Git as just a mirror.

..., preferably with CentOS 4, with more than
4GB of memory per CPU.
I know there are lots of mobos out there that can do this, but I'm looking for
what folks really have running. Call me paranoid.
The target is SATA + n*GigE + 1CPU + 8GB memory, and I can consider other
configurations. The incumbent system is a Xeon 8GB system running i686 CentOS
4.3 (what else?), with light CPU loading and very heavy IO loading (WD raptors
are our friends).
Folks with deep(er) knowledge of x86_64 architecture, I'd also be interested
in the trade offs between 1CPU w/8GB and 2CPUs each with 4GB. (E.g....

One last note: The SER/OpenSER community has been in a state of flux
recently, with OpenSER undergoing a name change to Kamailio and
subsequently seeing a fork. The incumbent Kamailio project is now
in the process of merging with the original SER project. The choice of
nomenclature for list is not meant to imply an endorsement of or
affinity for the IPTel SER project per se. It is just that right now it
serves the aim of terseness to use a common denominator, to re...

CallerID inconsistently presented through ISDN/cellular networks
Hi,
I'm facing a strange problem.
My setup is:
Alice cellphone <--GSM--><--ISDN--> Asterisk <-- ISDN --><--GSM--> Bob
cellphone
When Alice calls Asterisk which forwards the incoming call to Bob, sometimes
Bob sees Alice's number, sometimes he sees a default CallerID (which happens
to match the dialed number and the ANI).
For various reasons, Bob really needs to

I disagree. The targets should expose all the address spaces they
provide, and the frontend should know about the various address spaces
it needs to know about. It is incumbent on the frontend to deliver
a valid IR for a particular language implementation, and part of
that involves knowing about the ABI requirements for the language
implementation (which may involve using specific address spaces)
and the capabilities of each target (including the capabilities of

[PATCH] Remove even more CPP hackery
...hen FLAC is compiled,
not when this file is installed in /usr/include/FLAC or whereever.
I'll accept the rest of the patch. For the problem of this file,
I think the best solution is to just remove all the CPP hackery
and assume that a C99 <stdint.h> is available. THis would then
make it incumbent on any developer that includes (either directly
or indirectly) include/FLAC/ordinals.h to include some version
of <stdint.h> first, even if it is just a mininal one with
typedefs for the minimal set of sized ints.
Does that make sense?

A New R Kernel for Jupyter
Hello R Community,
'JuniperKernel' is a new package that provides a 'Jupyter' kernel
implementation. This package is the first C++ 'Jupyter' kernel to exist in
CRAN. Its architecture differs from incumbent R kernels in novel ways that
allow for streaming I/O and full support of 'Jupyter' extensions.
I would be grateful for any feedback!
Happy Holidays,
Spencer
