Contacting Delphi ??
What does the sudden appearance of "Contacting Delphi ......the oracle
is unavailable.
We apologize for any inconvenience." mean? A bug? It appears at plotting.
Thanks

False. OS X by default runs only signed binaries, and if they come
from the App Store they run in a sandbox. User gains significant
security with this, and are completely unaware of it. There is no
inconvenience.
What is the inconvenience of encrypting your device compared to the
security? Zero vs a ton more secure (either when turned off and data
is at rest or a remote kill that makes it very fast to effectively
wipe all data)

While I agree with you about the long-term viability of passwords, I'll
disagree with this statement. There is a loss of convenience with
signed binaries from a store: the user can no longer install directly
from the program vendor's website but must go through the walled garden...

Indeed.
I've fixed a minor problem with the OS upgrade, and CVS services seem to
be working again. You should be able to checkout and make commits
(provided you have commit access, of course) using the LLVM CVS
repositories.
The llvm.org DNS entry hasn't been updated yet to ha...

take 3-4 hours.
During most of this time, llvm.org services (LLVM web page, CVS

also be undergoing an IP address change due to some recent network
changes at UIUC.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

R command history -- can it be like Matlab's?
Hi all,
In R GUI window, if you use "up" and "down" key, you will be able to recall
the previous and next command that has been used and stored in the command
history cache.
But there is one inconvenience:
In Matlab, you can type the first a few characters of the command that you
previously used,
and then press ?up" key, you will be able to get to that previous command
very fast,
no matter how long ago it has been used...
In R GUI, there is no such functionality.
Any thoughts on makin...

FLAC format

system using the RIFF file format. In this ACM codec's implementation, all
data, including the "fLaC" marker and the metadata blocks, is placed by the
Audio Codec Manager encoder's GUI in the RIFF's data area. Actually, I
couldn't find any other way for doing this. The inconvenient is that the
files written this way can't be read by any other than the Audio Codec
Manager.
I have two suggestions to solve this problem: the reference decoder could be
modified to understand the RIFF structure or the FLAC format could be
changed to meet the RIFF format. The first solution...

You must not use OS X regularly, else you?d know there is plenty of inconvenience in this policy. There?s a whole lot of good software that is both unsigned and not in the App Store. Examples:

Installing packages into updated R
A minor inconvenience in updating an R installation is remembering which
packages were installed previously. Has anyone written a script to
inspect a previous installation, then get & install the same packages
into the new installation?

Using todolist (abstract spoon) from ubuntu 11.10 ?
...omponents.
When I went to run todolist.exe, it started fine with the "first time wizard" (asking me where to save definitions and what file to open first), and then it stopped saying "the program todolist.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience".
What can I do to make this (great) software work on ubuntu?
Thanks.

Inconvenient behavior of as.data.frame() for lists without names
Hi all,
I ran into a small issue when converting a list of vectors to a data
frame. The Issue I'm having is described by the snippet below:
#########################################################
# Convert a list of vectors into a data.frame
strlen = 256
s.long.a = paste( letters[1+(0:strlen %% 26)], collapse="")
s.long.b = paste( letters[1+(strlen:0 %% 26)],

numbers and decimal points
I have a question for our European readers: how common is it to use
commas as decimal points in spread-sheet and statistics applications?
Is it an inconvenience to require that all data use a period as decimal point?
(i.e., 3.14159 rather than 3,14159).
We're trying to make our program as foolproof as possible, and would
prefer not to give users a chance to have commas as both decimal points
and field delimiters.
Thanks,
