man and man-db inconsitency
Folks I use "yum list installed" to determine if a package has been installed. In particular, I was interested in the "man" program, installed with the command "yum install man". In Centos6, if I look at the results, I see that "man" was installed. This is good. In Centos7, if I look at the results, I see that "man-db" was installed. This

man and man-db inconsitency
On 1/29/2016 9:22 PM, david wrote: > Is there a reason for this inconsistency? And, some packages change their names in different major

asterisk voicemail to email and relaying
Hi list, I'm trying to get some ideas on this subject. Normally astersik sends emails with voicemail attached trough local MTA. As far as i know there is no way for asterisk to authenticate to an external mailserver to relay these emails. Well, these days every provider has some sort of spam blocking, to add to that usually users of asterisk are behid a dynamic IP with no PTR and list grows

LDAP/Autofs instructions are conflicting in Centos5.3
Hi, I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place, so if this belongs more on another list, please let me know. I am trying to get Autofs configured to use LDAP on CentOS5.3, but am running into an inconsitency. On CentOS5.3, the openldap server is installed with an extra schema/redhat/autofs.schema file. From what I can tell, that schema file seems to follow RFC2307bis. In the

Patch to fix small bug in do_External and do_dotcall
I've stumbled upon a small bug/inconsitency in do_External and do_dotcall: Here's an example: % LC_ALL=C R --vanilla < symname-bug.R R version 2.8.0 (2008-10-20) *snip* > options(error=expression(0)) > ## Call 'R_GD_nullDevice' with incorrect parameter count: > .Call("R_GD_nullDevice", 1) Error in .Call("R_GD_nullDevice", 1) :

Backup of virtualized Samba4 AD
...again. Maybe someone can give me some hints, which backupsoftware to use or what to consider in this topic. Some time ago I had an error, that a client couldn't connect to AD ("Could not determin trust relation"... something like that was the errormessage). I'd like to avoid inconsitencies. Example: - SAMBA4 shut down - SAMBA4 backup - SAMBA4 start - HERE SOMETHING CAN OCCUR... WELL MAYBE - Server, which is connected to domain as a client, shut down - Server backup - Server start In this scenario it could be the case, that the client is doing something with the domaincontroller (w...

How to model "Expense Report" in Rails MVC
1st: I am a newbie to Rails & to pure OO. Q: I want to use rails for creating a "master-detail" form. page layout will allow users to type in an "expense report header" and as many "expense report lines" as they need to. I understand how to wrap the final submit action using "transaction" to ensure the inserts to the database happen within the same

Regular Crashes - Partially Solved
Thanks Paradise, this seems to have worked a treat!!! I commented out the: exten => 110,hint,SIP/110 lines which were in extensions_additional.conf for each sip extension I had. This seems to have stopped the crashes which were previously 3-5 times a day, now: System uptime: 1 day, 18 hours, 10 minutes, 3 seconds Interestingly it had the knock on effect of fixing another problem I had

Regular crashes
I have just setup asterisk on a debian sarge box. I am running Asterisk 1.21 with AMP and chan_capi_cm 0.6.1 using a BT Speedway (AVM Fritz) ISDN card, connected to a BT ISDN2e line. Currently we have 6 extensions (SIP) configured all using CounterPath(Xten) eyebeam softphone. After many hours of Googling I have finally got it all setup and working. We can transfer calls internally and make and

Using Samba over VPN - shares disconnect on Windows clients
I am running Poptop 1.1.4 VPN server, Samba 3.0.6, RH 9 (2.4.20-8 patched for mppe-mppc). When the end user connects via VPN, they can create a share to the samba shared folder that was created. When they clost the explorer window, then reopen the shared drive from the "My Computer" view, the share can not be re-opened with the error that the mapped drive is alreay in use. I have

swig_up
Tracing down some things to add in validators and I''ve run across something that kinda bothers me... In order to implement validators you have to override the clone method. The directors seems to be set up to specifically handle this situation. However, whenever C++ calls back to the object''s methods the swig_get_up function is returning false. It seems like swig_up

CallerID inconsistently presented through ISDN/cellular networks
Hi, I'm facing a strange problem. My setup is: Alice cellphone <--GSM--><--ISDN--> Asterisk <-- ISDN --><--GSM--> Bob cellphone When Alice calls Asterisk which forwards the incoming call to Bob, sometimes Bob sees Alice's number, sometimes he sees a default CallerID (which happens to match the dialed number and the ANI). For various reasons, Bob really needs to

[PATCH v0 00/18] btfs: Subvolume Quota Groups
This is a first draft of a subvolume quota implementation. It is possible to limit subvolumes and any group of subvolumes and also to track the amount of space that will get freed when deleting snapshots. The current version is functionally incomplete, with the main missing feature being the initial scan and rescan of an existing filesystem. I put some effort into writing an introduction into

Ok, so I ran fsck manually (even with -y), but yet it refuses to clear/fix whatever to the questions posed as fsck runs. What does this all mean?
