bug? rsync counts inaccesible file as being transferred
hello, with --stats, shouldn`t we differ between "number of files transferred" and "number of files failed" ? the problem is, that i have files which ALWAYS fail on transfer, and to check for "number of files failed"<=2 would be the best way for me to check if the overall transfer was ok. if i magaged to create a patch to adress this, would such patch be

win98 and samba servers
...estion. I am trying to access a directory which is password protected for a username in /etc/passwd and shadow. Win 95 has no problems acessing the directories using windows logon name as name and asking passwd for the directory for that user name. When I upgraded to win 98, the directories became inaccesible. I checked log.<machine> and found that win 98 is trying to access to those directories as user guest neglecting whatever i've written to windows logon. I am not using any windows NT for logon. msdfs root in [homes] do not work in XP
...in home directory of users : ln -s msdfs:box-p\\clouds shared When users log into PDC using an win98 machine they find "shared" in his home, and can access it. When users log into PDC using an win XP pro they find "shared" in his home, but can't access it: the resource is inaccesible or doesn't exists. We tried to move the dfs to other share, acting as dfs root, and create mdfsd links there. Then any machine can see "share" and have access to its contents.
