Serious, inacceptable artefacts with Ogg Vorbis
Hello developers,
I recently participated in a public listening test that was held by
German magazine c't. They had two categories, 64 kbps and 128 kbps.
I only participated in the 64 kbps test where there were 7 .wav files,
with 1 of them the original one and the other 6 being encoded with
different encoders. Without knowing which file was encoded with which
encoder you had to give each

An even simpler case may help explain why this is not *unnecessary*

how to prevent files and directories from being deleted?
Hi,
how can I prevent files/directories like /var/run/mariadb from being
deleted on reboot? Lighttpd has the same problem.
This breaks services and makes servers non-restartable by anyone else
but the administrator who needs to re-create the needed files and
directories every time and has to figure out what selinux labels they
need. This causes unnecessary downtimes.
This is entirely

error was unknown user (13), NT error was NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER
I'd like to know which is the user name used in such attempts
How can I get such info without raising log level to an inacceptable level

problem with pam_converse with openssh protocol version 1
Hi,
My company decided to implement security restrictions lately and I was
to write more strict authorization modules for pam. One of it works
asking for some kind of additional security string (for example pin from
some kind of token). It is done by pam module, which asks calling
application to do conversation for him:
prompt_msg.msg_style = PAM_PROMPT_ECHO_OFF;

how to get perfect fit of lm if response is constant
Hello.
Consider the response-variable of data.frame df is constant, so analytically
perfect fit of a linear model is expected. Fitting a regression line using
lm result in residuals, slope and std.errors not exactly zero, which is
acceptable in some way, but errorneous. But if you use summary.lm it shows
inacceptable error propagation in the calculation of the t value and the
corresponding

PreBeta4/First Results
Hi there,
I encoded the hard to encode piece ":wumpscut: - mother" with the new
prebeta4 encoder (windows). As I crashed my harddrive I've to reinstall
linsuxx again and double check the results, maybe there's a difference
between the platforms (as far as I remember there was such a thing before).
This song is pretty good for fast listening-tests as there are plenty of

image() generates many border lines in pdf, not on screen (quartz) - R 2.9.1 GUI 1.28 Tiger build 32-bit (5444) - OS X 10.5.8
Dear all,
I have invested substantial amount of work in a complicated, yet on
screen perfect looking graph that uses image(). Unfortunately saving it
as pdf (or quartz.save at high resolution) all generate very disturbing
border lines around each small rectangle that image() has drawn. While
using Preview it helps to turn off antialiasing to make those faint
lines disappear on screen

[LLVMdev] Obsolete PTX is NOT completely removed in 3.2 release
Pawel,
We all understand that you're pretty new to release process, etc., but
I think you should understand the implications of your actions.
You just created a lot of harm for really huge pile of users - the
ones who downloads the tarball via some automated build system and
rely on the known good checksum. This includes, but not limited to to
the users of FreeBSD, Gentoo, etc.
Even worse,

I can't tell why. Try to register mode 8kHz Mono mode Q3 or Q4 for
Netmeeting. Only these modes pack exactly 1

@Christian Buchner: speex acm & netmeeting
Hi,
I managed to get the codec into netmeeting. Unfortunately it doesn't
properly work. I tried to talk vie net, but only erranous packets are
decoded. Did I possibly register the codec wiht incorrecxt parameters or
is this a problem of the acm codec?
