SSH key exchange algorithm negotiation payload growth
Howdy- TL;DR An SSH daemon for a memory-constrained embedded platform didn't work with a recent OpenSSH client because it couldn't handle the payload size during key exchange. In general, what should SSH implementors in such limited environments do to ensure forwards compatibility with future OpenSSH releases? I am unable to SSH to any of my HP servers' iLO2 interfaces using OpenSSH 6.2p1. My particular problem looked similar to earlier compatibility problems between OpenSSH and mpSSH, the iLO2 SSH daem...

[LLVMdev] Accurate garbage collection support

If you're interested in such things, I would really appreciate feedback on the document, especially from front-end authors or garbage collection implementor type-of-people. CR/LF proposal
...binary file or some other data file. But what if you assign a directory that would always be converted. Have some option on smb.conf like: crlf directory = dir. Wher the dir is within a share or maybe as a share option itself to make all files perform the conversion. This way, it is up to the implementor to decide what files are converted and what are not, and the samba team is not responsible. If the implementor placed a file that should not be converted in the specified share, then it is the implementor's fault and not Samba's. Reason for this request: I am developing Tcl code on a Lin...

Weird stalling of playback on IAX2 channels on 1.8 svn
.... The call stays up, but asterisk stops sending packets. It doesn't always happen - but on demo-congrats it happens about half the time. It only happens in IAX calls. Anyone else experienced it ? [LLVMdev] help with llvm.
...e much simpler compared LLVM, say only a very few basic optimizations. Other optimizations could be written and implemented as plug and play but not part of the core compiler. profiling should be helpful but not a necessity. now to what help I need .. I would appreciate comments and pitfalls any implementor faced while doing similar exercise. wonder if the LLVM authors maintained some sort of logs of what they did first and what they implemented last and what problems they faced. pointers to helpful urls is also welcome. [LLVMdev] LLVM and managed languages
...t;nice to have", as would better concurrency primitives. These are things I could Tackling the "still way too difficult" and "should be more batteries included" aspects of your post, I think that there is a lot of room for an LLVM subproject that provides a "language implementors toolbox" in the form of some really well documented and standardized runtime libraries that provide GC, synchronization, etc capabilities. Having them available and reusable (and sub-settable!) would allow code sharing across a wide range of different llvm language implementation. These are...

[LLVMdev] RFC: New EH representation for MSVC compatibility
...ile a function in Visual Studio, the result is a function with some mangled symbol that other object code can make references through the linker. But the other object code never incestuously refers to the unwind tables of the function it calls, right? I'm speaking from the point of view of an implementor of a new programming language who wants to interoperate with C++. I've already got code that can decode the Microsoft RTTI info coming from C++ exceptions, and the pointers to those can be extracted with SEH GetExceptionPointers, etc. To support catching exceptions in my language, or at least c...

INFO method and DTMF translation
Hello guys, I have searched high and low, but not found any information about rules of using DTMF in SIP INFO method. Cisco has described something with Signal=, but it look like this feature is dependent on implementors? The problem is chan_sip.c cannot correctly translate received DTMF digits, especially #,*. At least with my Antek EGW-804 gateway. Looking into chan_sip.c, I found this code: line 3982 if (p->owner) { if (strlen(buf)) { if (sipdebug)...

Define 6.1 and 7.1 channel mappings
...ring follows the WAVE file format, rather than the Vorbis order of other Xiph codecs. This matches what flac has done for the existing mappings, and it allegedly what current tools like libavformat are doing. Please consider applying this patch to have a definitive statement on the channel map for implementors to follow. -r P.S. This doesn't update the flac command-line tool to enforce this mapping. That needs to be done as well, along with test files. -------------- next part --------------

[LLVMdev] Does anaysis group only contain passes?
Thanks, John. This sounds reasonable that the analysis group just provides an interface to its implementors (pass). Then I have another question, is it allowed to specify multiple pass in the same analysis group in the command line for opt? If yes, which pass will be used for the call of getAnaysis<AnalysisGroup>()? -Thomson On Mon, Jun 25, 2012 at 10:34 PM, John Criswell <criswell at illinoi...

What I would like, is to set up the passes in exactly the same as clang -O2 or llvm-gcc -O2 do. Is there some way to get that behavior using the api below? How do language implementors do this in the LLVM environment? Thank you for any help. And thank you for this great tool. Brent FunctionPassManager OurFPM(TheModule); // Set up the optimizer pipeline. Eleven??

It looks to me like Rails *can* do everything Eleven does, but for a beginner trying to put together a quick-and-dirty Intranet application, Eleven would be a good bit simpler, especially if the implementor was not a Ruby programmer. Do any of you see anything in Eleven that Rails can''t do easily? -- M. Edward (Ed) Borasky http://linuxcapacityplanning.com
